Just because we have a vaccine (with more on the way) doesn't mean we can relax our guard. We're not out of this yet, by any stretch of the imagination.

It took roughly nine months to develop this, and - hey presto! - there had been hardly any work by the present government (and we all know who's in charge) to reserve enough doses for everyone or to have more than just the basic framework for distribution infrastructure set up.
Gee whillikers, it's almost as if the present government wants a lot of Americans to die, and screw things up really badly before grudgingly handing the mess off to the next government.

The latest studies the Pfizer vaccine are showing 95% efficiency at preventing infection - but that doesn't mean that 5 % will die if they get infected - the vaccines also greatly reduce the severity and symptoms of infection leading to a higher survival rate. And 90% (ball parking that number for the other vaccines) is actually a very high number : " very few vaccines – aside from measles and chickenpox – are 90% effective. The flu vaccine is around 40%-60% effective, but it still saves millions of lives. And that’s something to celebrate." - https://theconversation.com/pfizer-.....y-means-149849
Exactly. I'm banking on both -- the reduction in infection and the reduction in effects -- because I'm in the high-risk pool. Over 60, overweight (hard to exercise with a bad back) diabetic -- and with a lifetime of respiratory issues (e.g., pneumonia at age 4 and many times since, chronic asthma and bronchitis), I am almost #1 on the hit parade. I got my first dose (Moderna) on Saint Patrick's Day (March 14th).
i have a similar background, but managed to catch and reverse type 2 before it got bad. but i've had pneumonia so many times i've lost count. and in the last month i've developed some spikes in pulse and blood pressure that are worrisome...coming up on first shot in a couple weeks but we have to figure out what's going on with my ticker first.
Stronger? More enduring, I'd say. It really takes stamina and experience, plus a bit more strength to wear about an 80 to 100 pound costume of fake fur, Kapok and other materials to perform in a fursuit. I recall a fellow who once had a terrific, very close to life Ferret costume, and I was absolutely amazed at how he bounced about the Con with seemingly boundless energy. I figured when he put n his Ferret costume, he became a domesticated ferret. At least in action and activity, but he'd only appear for about fifteen minutes at a time during the con. I'm certain his appearances took their toll on his human self.
XD It is THE ICP, front man/singer Violent Jay, in a custom suit he got - because at first he started supporting his furry daughter, then wanted to furry along with her, and subsequently wore to MidwestFurFest 2019 (I was there n saw it in person. It was also her birthday n everyone sang her happy birthday... good times!)
