The first day at FWA. I sign up. the whole time this guys talking to me like were old buds... Follows me around for like...an hour, chattering, and finally im like... "You know, i really dont want to hurt your feelings because you seem like a really cool person id love to be friends with but...do i know you? - of course you know me. we're like..*notices the name tag* like........like...*ninja, VANISH! /poof\*
I truly do apologize. I'm not being a snark here but could you maybe rephrase this slightly? My brain is refusing to translate..
im getting "You have a friend. He was at fwa. He says he saw his best friend while in the registration line, was that person whom he saw me?" If thats the question, the best i can answer is "i honestly do not know". Im sure alot of people saw their best friends there. To paraphrase Kage's description, what sets furries off from every other fandom is that we dont go to cons for celebrities.. (though we might take notice when one does show up) we dont go to cons to buy things (well...not EXCLUSIVELY to buy things), primarily furry fans are fans..of furries, we go there to hang out and not feel judged. No matter what the media says about us we are an incredibly innocent lot and the powers that be are starting to get the idea...slowly... that making fun of us is karmically the same as kicking a puppy.
Considering the fairly brief duration he spent with me i am fairly sure he came to the realization we had never met before. But i hope he did meet the person he thought i had been.
If i totally misinterpreted what you were wanting to know, please forgive me, i have had a long, incredibly stressful, and utterly miserable 3 weeks and i get the feeling its going to get worse before it gets better, so im not quite at my best.

Really, that used to be the case, but the past three or so years for the con I attend, the pre-reg line has been a phenomenal wait. :/ Even annoying attendees are finally catching up to the fact pre-reg is usually cheaper. and now that's of more importance to them than it was in early 2000.
*snrk* I have personal experience with this kind of person. Fortunately, years of practice have taught me to use THE LOOK. Don't say anything, don't do anything, just stare at the person with a stonewall expression until they stop. (Often they'll ask you what's up - just tell them that you're watching them make an ass out of themselves.)
