just awesome sense of action and movement Peritan. I knew when you showed us the lines that this pic was gonna be special, you didf not disappoint. 100% wow. Really like the colors you've chosen, the dust effect at the warrior's feet is very believable and the bad guys' glow-eye streaks really added alot of motion to this, great job!
Only one of them's got his teeth bared, and it looks more like he's grimacing or growling as opposed to whimpering. Neither of them have the upturned eyebrows which are characteristic of a frightened expression. The brown dude's expression looks fairly calm and calculating, also.
And I know you didn't ask me, but that's just one of the things that sucks about posting a comment publicly; other people can reply :D

Of course you can reply, it just has no actual explanatory value nor works as anything constructive to the actual artist if you work as his answering machine. So unless he personally requested you to work as his shitfilter your jammering serves no purpose, especially since I did not comment on actual skill of the artist, just the elements of imagery he portrays, and here you barge in to defend him like I was tossing ad hominems around and bashing the name of his gray grandfather or something.
Artist is talented yes, but putting some thought in the pictures wouldn't hurt.

You're replying to me, which tells me my jammering serves some kind of purpose, otherwise why invest time and typing in something purposeless? I don't know how me simply replying to another public comment is "barging in" though. I was under the impression that we were simply discussing the subject matter of the image and presenting viewpoints about the way the characters were composed, or how they could've been composed more effectively to convey the artist's intent.
I replied out of polite acknowledgement of your opinion, offering you a dismissal and reasoning behind the dismissal.
The viewpoint here is that people read that in people terms, so then why draw furry if you don't intend to give them animal characteristics other than purely cosmetic.
If the poses and layout calls for tails between legs, you change the poses so it does not call them there and make them look like scared mutts about to wet themselves the moment you divert your eyes elsewhere than in the characters faces. It is not so hard to make the entire character ooze with defiant confidence on own talents.
As beautiful the art is, it could always be improved, and if to you this is perfect you need to raise your standards :)

You said though that I was barging in to defend the piece like I thought you were throwing ad hominem or something at the artist.
Anyways if I personally had drawn the image, yeah, I would've gone for different tail placement myself, but I still don't see how their poses translate to "whimpering" or looking like they're about to "wet themselves". And I don't think it's perfect, I just think it's a pretty nice image. The tail positions alone are all that could really suggest fear, but the rest of their poses are fairly upright or aggressive looking - the brown one being fairly tall standing with his chest arched forward (uncharacteristic of someone who's cowering in fear), and the lighter one leaning forward with his arms positioned outwards in what could be received as a "Come and get it" kind of posture. In light of that and their decidedly not-afraid looking facial expressions (the one on the left being Mr. Cool and Calculating, and the one on the right having his War Face on) I just simply do not see how either character could be viewed as scared mutts whimpering under their breath.

ooooooooooooooh I was waiting for this. :D
glad I popped on to FA tonight. The wait was worth it :3
utterly fantastic. the energy apparant in the lineart soars with added color. The tension, the dread, the looming sense of doom. Awesome.
Easily my favorite piece from you, and likely my favorite piece on FA. It's a shame its so small, it would make for an epic desktop background.
I suppose thats the benefit of being the person who commisioned this, huh? XD

wow, very nice. I love the motion blurs in teh red eyes of the shadows in teh background. The outfits seem Egyptian by nature?
Lovely use of color, and very exciting. Makes me really want to know how it turned out *get vision of the two of them sitting on a pile of bodies saying something like "That was fun" or "I'm too old for this @#$%*
