The Michigan State University library has this scan of a 1978 Christmas advertising supplement from the student newspaper. [ https://archive.lib.msu.edu/DMC/sta....._19781201A.pdf ] It's some fascinating reading, not just for seeing how many record stores there were in town back then. I was intrigued by, among other things, bits of prefurry artwork. For example, here, something from page two, a bunch of adverts for the Student Book Store, which with Marshall's Music and one (but not the other) of the Little Caesar's is about the only thing from the flyer that's still there. Anyway here's three reindeer gone off jogging with Santa (in the original). There's no rhyme or reason to what the reindeer are wearing.
Also, I don't know what it is about fanzine-style art of the late 70s but it's got this real style to it that I admire, possibly out of concentrated nostalgia.
I do not know what mid-Michigan mountain range that is they're jogging in front of. Maybe it's the snow piles in the Frandor mall parking lot.
