A mask commission for HiddenCaitastrophe on DeviantART. She wanted a mask inspired by the traditional firebird.
This is hand-tooled and hand-shaped 7 oz leather, and the feathers around the outer edge of the mask, as well as the plumes on the 'forehead' were also cut and shaped from 7-oz leather. I painted the mask with acrylics and adorned it with real feathers, and it can be tied and worn with the attached gold ribbons. The edges of the outer feathers are iridescent gold, and the beak has a 'burnished gold' shimmer to it.

Feather texturing can be quite a task to get done properly, the dedication one takes to get it right shows how willing an artist is to master their trade. You are obviously quite dedicated, but this goes without words. :3
I'm still working on mastering feather texturing myself truth be told, here is an example of my best feather texturing to date, I'd appreciate it if you could give me a few tips and constructive criticism if it isn't too much to ask.
