Ace Spade the Pikachu had always been a thorn in the side to Darkening Lotsamoni. One day he got careless and Darkening somehow managed to get the better of him and knock him out. Ace woke up a short time later strapped to a chair in a room with a large screen in front of him. It had a spiral on the screen and a strange noise was emitting from it. He tried but shut his eyes, but they were being held open by tape.

Over years of training, he had built up a resistance to any form of hypnosis and mind control. However, unfortunately for him, resistance does not equal complete immunity to having his brain scrambled by malicious forces. It took an entire month of a clockwork orange-style brainwashing to finally destroy Ace’s mind.

Instead of making Ace his butler or another type of lowly servant, Darkening made him believe he was a second Darkening. His reason behind it was he could always use a lookalike to go to all the boring business meetings and galas in his place. Having a “fall guy” was also something he could need.
