Well, if the entire Galactic Empire in Star Wars can be British, I don't see why space pirates couldn't go full "Arr, matey! Shiver me timbers and plunder me booty!", to be honest!
That's not really how I imagine Djamil here speaking, though. I imagine him having a sort of low, deep (but not quite James Earl Jones level) voice, and actually being fairly well-spoken, with plenty of innuendos and a near-constant air of "is he coming on to me?" in how he speaks. Maybe the closest comparison, sticking to Star Wars, would be Lando Calrissian in Empire Strikes Back?
