What do I do when I can't concentrate on art?
Fixing more Christmas lights. Checked fuses first, then looked for burnt out bulbs. Then hit them a couple times with the light gun just to see if that did anything. Nothing, so I had to go about fixing them in the most tedious way possible. Taking off the plastic shades, task made all the more difficult by sharp edges and a very tight fit. And checking each bulb one by one. turns out several bulbs on the multicolored ones had broken contacts. Also had to remove one socket that'd melted. the purple one only had one bulb that was out.
still one issue I don't know how to fix though. The green one only works after I've fiddled around with the plug and got it in the right position. this is a problem on several of these ball lights. I've tried plugging it into different outlets, and that has made no difference. Wire connections and fuses all appear to be good as well. I'd install a new plug, but I have no wire nuts that small, nor do I know where to get a plug with built in fuses for Christmas lights. So the green one will have to be a spare.
It's weird how such a tedious task becomes easier as you get older. Had it been a few years ago I never would've bothered. But with our state induced isolation and my continuing insomnia I needed to do something constructive. Plus, these things are $20+ each, and I'm not spending that kinda money to buy new ones, haha.
