“Cheer up, Yosh,” Mrs. O’Ducky comforted while walking her son towards Ms. Lucca’s house. “Just because older kids say something doesn’t mean it is true.”
Yosh sniffled.
“They say only little babies believe in Santa,” he moped. “They say mommy and daddy just hide presents in closet out of reach and that they know what they got for Christmas from finding hiding place.”
The green Yoshi mother rang the doorbell before getting down on one knee to face her dino-duck son.
“Sweetie,” she soothed while taking hold of one of his hands. “Mommy and daddy believe in Santa and we’re not little babies.”
Yosh snorted before wiping his tear-filled eyes.

“Is someone feeling shy?” a caring purple cat cooed. “Looks like we’ll have to get out the super fun board games over a cup of cocoa!”
Yosh didn’t move, which worried Lucca.
“Some kids took it upon themselves to tell lies to Yosh about Santa,” Mrs. O’Ducky stated with a look of hope in her eyes. “If Duckers and I didn’t have the holiday party to attend, I-”
“-Oh!” Lucca interjected with a dramatic gasp. “Well this is a job for Rum and Butterscotch!”
Mrs. O’Ducky smiled and gently nodded towards Lucca.
“And look who’s wearing some adorable winter clothing!” the purple-coated caretaker added in a sing-song voice. “Let’s get that frown turned upside-down!”

Lucca had an impressive tree that was covered in shiny colored lights and snowflake ornaments that each had the picture of a child she cared for. This included Yosh and his baby sister, Winry.
“See this happy face?” Lucca stated while walking the overall clad dino-duck towards the tree. “Think we can get that same smile back on your face?”
The shiny, flickering, and multi-colored lights of the tree, coupled with the ornament, made Yosh feel better.
“Pretty,” he commented while looking at the ornament bearing his visage.
As the dino-duck played with the snowflake, Lucca grabbed a plush lion and bunny.
“Hey, Yosh!” she had the lion say while dancing upon Yosh’s shoulder. “What’s all this about no Santa?”
Yosh’s eyes widened.
“Sounds like some kids are just jealous of little boys who believe in magic!” Lucca voiced for the bunny that she placed upon her charge’s other shoulder.
Yosh turned to see Lucca holding the lion and bunny plushies towards each of his hands.
“I think we have some friends who want to talk about those kids who have lost their Christmas spirit?” she warmly encouraged.
“Yeah,” the lion said through Lucca’s talent in ventriloquism. “Butterscotch and I think we need to help you remember the magic of Santa before jealous kids make you think it isn’t real.”
“You said it, Rum!” the pink bunny added while Yosh firmly took hold of both plush animals. “Holiday magic only is there for those who believe it is there! If you stop believing you will no longer have magical powers!”
Lucca could see that the young dino-duck had started to engage his imagination. She knew the look of an inspired youngster and the way the beaked tyke appeared in his purple hoodie and matching overalls in front of her tree made her quickly scramble to pull out her MyPhone and snap a picture.
FOP-FOP
Yosh was down on his knees and imagining himself in a magical world as he took over for the voices of the plushie pals.
The purple caretaker cat smiled wide as she delighted in seeing a far happier child now than what she had seen at the front door of her house.
“I’ll be back with some graham crackers and hot chocolate,” she said softly before quietly making her way back to the kitchen.
“No let mean bullies make you not believe in Santa!” danced the yellow lion plush as Yosh gave him a voice. “They want you not get presents!”
“And mommy and daddy say being a big brother means being nice to little sisters even if they are annoying!” Butterscotch, the bunny, added. “You can’t let her get all the Christmas magic to herself! Believe and he will come and give you lots of toys!”
Yosh let out a playful squeal as he kicked his feet and waved the plushies in his hands.
“There is Santa!” he proclaimed. “You are good and loving friends!”
Yosh held both plush toys in front of his face and smiled at them.
“Yeah!” they both replied. “If only little babies have magic than you can always be like little baby for little babies, like little sister, get lots of love, attention, and magic! No lose magic, love, and attention!”
The dino-duck felt shivers of joy as his playtime continued. He was so happy that he didn’t even realize he had soaked his training pants. Lucca may have to change him, but his change in attitude was more than worth a setback in his potty training.

<LoL!> I can see that interpretation of the plush names happening. Though, for lil' Yosh, he wouldn't think more about them beyond one sounding like it was a tasty treat and the other being a fun noise. *Giggles* Rum. Rum-Rum. Ruuuummmmm. *Playfully snickers*

Lucca has always done great with her YCH work. I try to get her work whenever possible as it helps her as much as it does me. :)

It is hard for me to remember, too. Fortunately, thanks to her visual description, I was more able to recall how she is now more of a motherly kitty and get it as right as I could. :)
Thanks for your time in reading and checking out this art. I try to help out Lucca when I can. Her YCH are great for story building. :)

Aww neat story! Poor Yosh. I can sorta tell where this story comes from! It's a lot nicer when kids have fun believing in all that stuff, and nice when adults still have the christmas spirit too. It's more fun and easier to have a fun positive attitude about it even later on. :3
aww yosh looks so cute wearing his orange shirt his blue overalls and his cute diaper while yosh is having fun playing with his toy plushies and yosh's mom and lucca is helping yosh believe in santa and lucca would have to had to change yosh's training pants afterwards since his diaper is wet so cute
