Corrine, the glass cannon. And the adorable one. And the smart one. And the strong one. Huh. Maybe I made him overpowered. Anyway, I'm working on another story for the PCA at the moment, most likely covering the introduction of Zeke's team. Not that anyone will read it, though...
Update: I'm getting worried about Corrine. He seems to be getting eviler and eviler as I continue to develop his character. But hey, the PCA needs more antagonists. But whether Corrine is a true antagonist or not is really up to you, of course...
Name: Corrine Walker
Species: Espeon
Battle Skill: Very Low…?
Average Grades: 89%
Age: 16
Height: 2'5.5" (0.8m)
Weight: 77lb (35kg)
Grade: Senior
Family: Father (Deceased): Orion Walker (Farfetch’d) Mother: Cairo White (Umbreon)
History:
Corrine, like Aero, is the son of a famous fighter; however in this case it is his mother who is the fighter. She was once a famous competitor in the championship, although she never won the entire tournament. Specialising in a mix of martial arts and psychic powers she was a force to be reckoned with, and once entered the semifinals. However, later on in her career she was banned from the leagues altogether due to a sudden outburst in a match, which led her to use nigh on fatal force. Dishonoured and ashamed she disappeared from the public eye forever.
Finally she reappeared several years later, married and a mother. She had become married to Orion Walker, a wealthy businessman who was head of Walker Incorporated, the leading brand in TM and HM invention and distribution, and was also a major investor and sponsor of the PCA. Sending their only son, Corrine, to the PCA, they had high hopes that he would either become a master fighter like Cairo or a genius like Orion. Unfortunately, they got both.
Corrine was tutored by his parents for his primary education, and was way ahead of his classmates when he first joined the PCA. He was moved up a grade due to this, and soon became the subject of many rumours across the school. His reputation as being rather mysterious was heightened further by his rather cold and quiet personality, along with his need to wear cushioned sparring gear while fighting due to his frailty; although some say it is used to decrease his destructive powers. Strangely, Corrine is very bad at fighting despite his vast powers, which he never uses in proper fights.
Corrine’s father’s recent death has rather traumatized the boy, as he believes that Cairo, his mother, was the perpetrator of his death due to the circumstances and repercussions of the event. Corrine is now quite petrified by the thought that his mother could kill him for the same reasons, as he believes her cold personality and efficiency may lead to her murdering him for the same reasons. Naturally Corrine has not vocalized these concerns, although he is beginning to crack under pressure.
Personality:
Corrine is rather cold to his classmates, his piercing glare and psychic abilities quickly putting people off being near him. He rarely if ever talks about his personal life; if he talks at all. His immense psychic powers also scare people, as he can easily mill through someone’s unconcious in close proximity, and isn’t one to keep it to himself. Seen as cruel and calculating by his classmates, Corrine is either feared or mocked, and ostracised either way.
If anyone manages to pierce Corrine’s cold exterior though, they find a boy who is truly scared of the world, like a lost child. With a family with huge expectations he has been lacking love for most of his childhood, and has become cold and cruel due to his loneliness, believing he will only find love via conquering others as his parents did. Anyone who manages to give the boy some affection will find that he is fiercely eager to please, willing to do anything for some friendship. At the moment he has only gotten close to Karah, and yet still doesn’t regard her as a friend. He definitely has feelings for her though, even though he’d never admit to them.
Corrine’s dream is to… take over the world; admittedly, believing that the only way a utopia can be created is if someone had the courage to use selfishness and cruelty in order to get themselves to a position of power, then use that power to rebuild the world as it should be. He believes that he is the messiah of his new world order, and will gladly crush anyone daring enough to get in his path to power.
Interests:
Corrine is usually found deep in his study at home, his desk covered with encyclopedias and formulae, with his head completely hidden by the stacks. He doesn’t enjoy studying and working, but forces himself to continue in order to finally reach his parents’ expectations; spending his time researching and learning constantly. In truth though he’d much prefer to be rehearsing with the school choir, or simply practicing his powers.
Most nights though he is usually plotting the next step in his plan to boost his own abilities, collecting artefacts and technology in order to gain personal strength, before he attempts to knock down leadership. While thus far he has not changed much in terms of power, he is definitely forming something… thought what it could be is known only by Corrine. Be it an instrument of strategic destruction or a form of elevating his already intimidating powers; Corrine is definitely doing creating something to follow his megalomaniac ideals, and, judging by the amount of time he has been putting into it, must be nearing it’s completion.
Moves:
Freshman Moves:
Confusion: Corrine unleashes his chaotic mental powers inside his targets mind, blasting their conscious with mental screeching. Even if the victim manages to resist the pain of the screeching blow, their thoughts are completely scrambled, making them forget any plans or preparations.
Swift: With a quick slash with his arm Corrine fires off a curved bolt of light. The shot generally does very little damage to it’s target; but Corrine generally uses them in hails of shots, dazzling the opponent.
Psych Up: With this move Corrine attempts to copy the physical attributes of his target; replicating them with his psychic abilities. He requires to be in physical contact with the target in order to use this ability, which limits it’s effectiveness, but it is one of his favourite moves regardless.
Future Sight: A move Corrine was taught by his mother. With it he predicts an event in the future; be it an opening in his opponent’s defence or the final return of an old friend. It’s use requires him to focus for some time; though the length of time depends on the length of time into the future he is looking, or what he is searching for. Corrine has often had students come to him to ask for his clairvoyant aid; though he often turns them down.
Sophomore Moves:
Hidden Power: After a short period of focus Corrine fires of a blast of elemental energy, the features of which are random. Whether it is a destructive wave of darkness or a single leave helplessly fluttering to the gound in front of Corrine is completely random… and often dissapointed.
Morning Sun: With meditation Corrine can recover very quickly by channelling the power of the sun through him, and can thus often be found simply sitting cross-legged in the ovals of the PCA, simply meditating quietly. He is often mocked for this by other students, but has yet to show any interest in retaliation.
Psychic: The coverall move for all of Corrine’s powers. He can embody it as telekinesis, telepathy, divining and more, though he specialises in telepathy, and enjoys using telekinesis, though his parents dislike his liking of it.
Hypnosis: With a piercing stare Corrine coaxes his victim under his control. The move is easily resisted is the victim is prepared, but if caught off-guard they will be quick to fall under Corrine’s powers. He rarely uses this move to get his way, but he is very skilled at using it covertly, which has only added to the schools’ general suspicion of him.
Junior Moves:
Rest: Corrine’s weak body is easily bruised and damaged and thus Corrine needs as much recovery as he can afford. With this and Morning Sun he is able to keep his body and mind in tip-top shape. With it he puts himself to sleep using a bizarre form of ‘self-hypnosis’, curling up ‘mewing’ quietly. His tendency to use this move during breaks is part of why he has such adoration from female students.
Trick Room: Grabbing his victim physically Corrine drags anyone in contact with him into his very own pocket dimension, over which he has full control of all it’s features, from gravity to it’s shape. The room itself is empty in most cases, as to furnish or decorate it beyond a block colour would be very straining, but Corrine loves it all the same. In order to use it he requires an extended period of physical contact with the desired person/people, and considering his frailty this is a rarity in fights.
Dream Eater: With this move Corrine drains the mental energies of his victim, but he can only do so if they are either unconscious or under his mind control. He is particularly feared for this ability as it is quite horrific to see the struggles of his victims as he simply absorbs their power.
Hyper Beam: Corrine’s most powerful and most feared move. With it he fires a streaming laser of uncontrolled psychic power, blasting his victims to oblivion with it’s sheer power. While usually he uses it only to knock out foes it can often leave scorched flesh or worse if used for too long.
Appearance:
Corrine looks very cute and child-like; mainly due to his short and thin stature along with his soft features, and is adored by many the females of the school because of it. His rather effeminate appearance is further accentuated by his rather figure hugging clothing; a pair of tight white jeans and a pink long-sleeved shirt, topped with a pink scarf and purple button-up jacket with fluffy cuffs.
Team and Relationships:
Corrine is part of a team with Twitch and Zeke, though he was added to it against his will. While originally getting along with the others with his initial respect for them he has begun to harbour a hatred towards his teammates, particularly Twitch due to the boy’s disinterest in planning. On the other hand though, he is getting along well with Karah, who believes she will be able to change his ideals to something more optimistic.
Due to his odd childhood he is also close to Zeke and Twitch’s mother, Vivian, who has grown quite close to him over their time together. He is rather adored by many of the schools girls due to his appearance, though none of them have dared come close enough to him to actually become friends with him. While his parents give him little affection he still respects them, and his mother is fiercely protective of him. However, Corrine has enemies in the school too. He particularly hates Aero due to his father’s success where his mother failed, and Aero’s happy lifestyle that grew in turn.
Corrine rather dislikes Janice, who often comes around to the dorm to chat with Isabella, and often messes with Corrine due to his powerlessness over her mind (being a Dark-Type) and because of his cuteness. In truth, however, Corrine doesn’t mind her too much since he enjoys being pampered.
Corrine is distrustful of Team Dracostrikers, and is particularly suspicious of Jax due to a confrontation the two had which Jax was lucky enough to walk away from. Next time, however, the boy may not be so lucky…
