the past couple days ive been working on a character/scenario thing that's purely for my own amusement-- a mediocre mascot platformer in the vein of those made as a follow-the-leader off Sonic's success in the early-mid 90s.
i've been treating it as though it really existed for the sake of lore-building lol
for instance, the main character's name is Kibou, but the English version refers to him as Kibo because of the pattern of romanization choices that happened in the 80s and 90s, and it got a sequel (Kibou to Yume) that makes Yume, the dude-in-distress of the first game, into a playable character, but that sequel never got released in English
ive been doing spritework on and off but also some more proper art
basically im doing this because it amuses me and hits on a very very particular nostalgic funny bone for me lol i have no intention of learning to program
but if anyone specializes in SNES/genesis-style chiptune music and is willing to work with me for smth--
