If I was in his position, I would probably say "They're not thick enough to be considered hair on their own, but if that's your way of saying 'that you don't feel them until they're touched' then alright..."
Of course my Braixen character would describe it as having a thick ear cleaner stick to one side part of your ear and you can feel every single part of it because of how thick it is, but like the perma skirt, once you get used to it it's not that bothersome at all... until she evolved into a Delphox and those feelings simply got bigger.
