Probably based on a number of things subconsciously (liek the cloning aspect is defintiely based on plant clippings and other such asexual reproduction)
But i made this because a friend wanted a lore dump of their life cycle and stuff cause i said off hand that they stuff their babs into little sock like coccoons
and he was incensed with this idea and wanted to see it
Two years later he still things it's a delight :D
