Warbred are called Warbred for a reason. They are selectively bred for traits the Shadowed King wants; they belong to the King and the Kingdom. Sometimes, they are given orders on who to pair with.

In this case, Nyre is from a very powerful lineage and is on the larger side of what his species is supposed to be, so he's been paired with Vhelos, a smaller early-generation Warbred in hopes to reduce the size of his descendants as well as their general health.

Vhelos is a bit of a legend; trained Artaxus himself, the most notorious of Warbred battle trainers, known for his temper and ferocity. Nyre is rather surprised at how small the legendary elder is. But orders are orders after all and the two waste no time doing what they were told to do. It is for the King and Kingdom, after all; their duty.
