With such a cheerful and kind personality, it's hard to believe someone like Maxwell would ever become a pirate of the seas. Though once captured and enslaved by the cruel Sethrakk of Vol'dun, he managed to one day pick the lock of his cage with a spare krolusk bone and make a mad dash to freedom, not even pausing to look back. Where was he off to, one might ask? Anywhere really, but when words reached his ears about the dreaded Worgeness pirate, Yshela, Maxwell knew he would be safe aboard that ship and its vicious crew. Hitching a ride on an Alliance ship back to the Eastern Kingdoms, Maxwell took the long and physically taxing journey to the Swamp of Sorrows, where Yshela had docked her ship for minor repairs. Tired and hungry, the tattered Vulpera staggered onto the dock leading to the ship and practically collapsed, the marks of cruel slavery forever scarred on his skin from Vol'dun. Feeling a bit of pity for the poor Vulpera, Yshela was more than happy to accept Maxwell aboard her ship and as apart of her crew, giving him the protection he so craved so long as his services as a skilled alchemist could be used by her. A fair trade for sure, as it ensured Maxwell's survival and a chance to see the wide world, as well as to escape the memories and the land of his slavery. Truth be told, Yshela has a soft spot for Vulpera in her heart, so that definitely worked for Maxwell's favor in getting an easy spot aboard the ship. He takes his job as the ship's alchemist seriously though, ensuring that he keeps his new captain happy and pleased with his work.
