Admittedly, I only said I wouldn't color him so that I could bait someone else into coloring him, but that didn't work so I did it myself...
Anyways, Steiner, colored.

he has a very red nose right now...
I always liked to have him in the party - may not be the smartest guy, but loyal and reliable ^^ and capable of dishing out quite well ^^
I wanted to make more of a beefy warrior than a bumbling suit of armor.
Actually i liked the Blood sword - having it to run up n down in the dungeon of Alexandria all on his own, and good ol´ Steiner becomes virtually immortal with it ^^
once you escape the cage, let your companion (forgot the name) die and then let Steiner wreak bloody havoc among the guards, simply by slaughtering your path to the stairs on the left and back to the cage on the right - do this for say two or three hours and you will see the effect... once i was done, he had learned every ability he could from every item i had at my disposal.
I've never even attempted to face him yet!
As always your colours are looking super fine, especially where it leafs around his right arm, and the purpley reds are a nice warm contrast to the cools. Somehow it has even more mood-'tude than the original.
I'm really proud of how well it turned out, glad you like it!
gimme
no give it to me I need it
D8 man...its weird to say, but I had a crush on him
when I was a kid playing FF9. hah.
poor Rusty ..then again he got the hottie general.
Anyways good rendition of him! The expression is dead on!
Is that the blood sword by chance? it looks it.
But no, it is the Defender. It's a good midgame sword that absorbs lighting and water damage!
This is easily the best drawing of Steiner I've ever seen. Great work with detailing and proportioning parts of his armour, like his helmet and shoulder sections. Also I like how you used shadows to make him look more serious and dangerous. And good choice for his sword to be weilding as well. The pose also suits him properly too I find, so good work with that as well =D
Thanks for the comment!
