I do wedding cakes too!
This is by far not one of my most impressive pieces as far as wedding cake goes, (I have to find my old phone to show you guys some of those) But I was pleased with the rose placement and the joining of the two tiers.
I'm not sure how the newly wed couple would be setting this cake up once they got it to their event but I"m sure it would be more impressive with the topper and what ever flowers and fabric backdrop it was going to get.
Red icing is a pain for roses as the amount of food coloring needed to make it RED also makes it runny, even when using gel colorings. Luckily I'm ingenuitive and got it to work.

>__< I decorated cakes at Meijer. THANKFULLY, our buttercreme came in big buckets of pre-colored icing. We only had to mix super custom colors (Like.. maroon, or dark purple), or "tie dye" icings.

Yeah. I hate the wally land but it's a bill payer.
OUrs does too, but our red is runny when we get it so I've got to doctor it up with a little powdered sugar, especially when the humidity is up in the summer.
I'm not much for this lacey type design (looks too messy to me) but for some reason it's popular.
