It’s a nice day for Sonic and Shadow to walk at the beach, although they hate getting their shoes sandy. The two best friends were planning to go to some five star restaurant that others said was very good to eat at. Sonic just hopes that they serve chilli dogs. “How expensive do you think it is?” Sonic asks.

“It’s a five star restaurant, they’re always expensive. No matter how small the food is.” Shadow said, rolling his eyes in annoyance. “As long as the food is good, I’ll pay.” The dark hedgehog really wanted to stay home today, but Sonic was begging for him to come.

“Hey, who says that you’re paying?” The blue hedgehog laughs. “We both know that I’ll be the one paying since you’re the guest.”

Shadow scoffs. “If you say so.” As they continued to walk, Shadow took notice of how clean Sonic’s shoes were. It was strange to him since Sonic had those shoes for years. “Say, what cleaning products do you use for your shoes?” He asks.

“Oh, umm just some shoe polish and other things. Why do you ask?” He turns to Shadow.

“Just wondering. They’re very clean.” This made the two stop walking and look at Sonic’s shoes. “Much cleaner than mine.”

“Oh yeah, I could give you some of my products if you want.” Sonic offers.

“That’s nice of you, thanks.” He hugged Sonic, right before he thought of something. Shadow didn’t know if he should ask, but it was just a suggestion. “If you don’t mind...may I try them out?” He asks, rubbing the back of his head.

“You want to wear my shoes?” Sonic said, wanting to get a clear statement.

Shadow nods. “Just for a couple of seconds, I promise.” He really wanted to try them out, see how they feel. He could get the same pair as Sonic’s later if he wants.

The blue hedgehog smirks, seeing how needy Shadow is. “Sure why not? It’s good to try out new things. In fact, I’ll like to wear your shoes..” So he and Shadow took their shoes off and switched them. Sonic was wearing Shadow’s shoes and Shadow was wearing Sonic’s shoes. It was very comfy for Shadow. They felt like he was standing on pillows. For Sonic, it was much different. He felt like he was on concrete barefoot.

“Wow, these are good! I wish I could keep them.” He looked at them, feeling proud to be wearing his shoes. But he also feels funny, like something was changing him. Sonic was feeling the same thing. “Umm, are you feeling funny?”

“Yeah, what’s going on?” Sonic has this adrenaline rush in his body that’s making him feel stronger while Shadow just wants to run.

“You know what, I’ll be right back.” He takes off in a flash, surprising Sonic since he’s the one who does that. Shadow came back a few seconds later, all excited and hyper. “Holy crap! I feel amazing!” He was shaky like he was in some sort of sugar rush.

“Dude, where did you go?” Sonic asks.

“All around the world! I went to every country and island in just seconds! It has to be the shoes!” He looks down to see the shoes covered in some red lighting bolts. “Isn’t this your power?”

“Yeah it is, I thought you were supposed to be super strong.” That’s when Sonic realizes that it was the shoes that did this. It made sense because they had the funny feeling right after they switched shoes. “Wait….doesn’t this mean I have super strength?” He looks around to find an anchor in the middle of the beach. Sonic goes up to it and carries it without any trouble. “Whoa! This is awesome!” He drops it on the ground and goes back to Shadow. “I never knew that being so strong was so amazing!”

“I could say the same for super speed!” Shadow still had this excitement in his system, probably from all the energy in the shoes.

“Now, let’s switch back.” Sonic says, taking off Shadow’s shoes.

“Aw, do I have to?” Shadow complains.

“Well we still have that restaurant to go to, plus I don’t want you taking off with my shoes. I’m not that fast with yours on.” He said, handing Shadow his shoes as he waits for Shadow to do the same.

“Fine, here you go.” He takes off the shoes and gives them back. “I really hope that I get to wear them again.” Shadow says, disappointedly as the two put them back on.

“Me too. Now let’s go, I'm starving.” Sonic says, the two walking down again on the sandy beach. Whatever they had experienced, it was a fun one. They’ll plan to do it again sometime, although they have to be careful in case their powers start to get out of control. For now, they have a day of eating and cleaning shoes, so they could call it the best day ever.
