Cool art, but just fyi, hyena dogs are pussies. The bitches rein the clan and are masculine to the point of having false genitals. The bitches actually top the dogs when mating.

You're stating this as if it's something that most people on here don't know. Most people who like hyenas are quite aware of their behaviour, anatomy and social structure in the wild.

However that's not going to stop people making hyena characters. After all, the idea of furries is purely fantastical, and the owner of the character can design it however they wish.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong in drawing this. I never meant to offend you in any way, shape or form. I'm so heavy into biology that I often forget that most people don't know as much as I do, but then there are things that are common knowledge and I have trouble telling the difference. I've been into this stuff for as long as I can remember and don't know how much the average person knows.

Back in grammar school I kept a scientific journal on the measurements, weight and markings of individual snakes I caught and released all summer long year after year. "Honey" was a full 2 5\8" longer than recorded in the Audubon Field Guide.

The average person probably doesn't have much awareness of these things, that's for sure. However this is a community of people who like animals. I'll give you that probably your average lulzyiff fox or wolf probably doesn't know much about the species of their fursona, but I would say that the majority who like more unusual species have a decent bit of background knowledge on them. Assuming otherwise in this environment is probably going to come off as being patronising and talking down to people.

Than let me apologize again. I completely understand and comprehend everything you said. I agree that a member of a site of gathered individuals sharing their love of animals tends to know more than the average person about animals.

But there are also an awful lot of people on this site who just draw the pretty doggy. People into anthro aren't always into the animal and I was just giving an FYI. There's this one guy who draws somewhat hardcore homosexual anthro and this one time he did a dominant hyena. I told him about it and he said he'd never heard of it.
