The final member of Zeke's currently unnamed team. I really wish I could get into a roleplay with either of my teams at the moment; cause I've really been putting effort into their character. I just can't seem to find where all the PCA roleplaying is happening. The forums are desolate; and from my experiences so is the IRC. Still; for the time being I'll just have to amuse myself with the story I'm working on. I'm still having trouble working out a team name at the moment...
Also; on a side note; I would really like some feedback for all these profiles and such. Am I not getting comments simply because people aren't finding my work; or am I just a bad writer? I can't improve if I don't know what I'm doing wrong...
Name: Karah Charr
Species: Lugia
Battle Skill: Above Average
Average Grades: 67%
Age: 18
Height: 2.1m
Weight: 463.9lb (210kg)
Grade: Junior
Family: Father: Patrick Charr (Pelipper) Mother: Indigo Kami (Lugia)
Little Sister (7 years old): Diana Charr (Lugia)
History:
Karah was raised by her family on Johto’s coast, living in a quiet, rather rural spot along the coast quite a way off from any of the major cities and towns. With a rather quiet childhood in the small town, her time in primary school was very uneventful; quite a different story to Zeke and Twitch’s childhood. Eventually she was forced to move out to board at the PCA, since her town was far off from any high schools and it wouldn’t be worth the money to send her to any other school in the far-off towns.
Karah’s first year in the PCA, however, was quite a wild ride. Used to her quiet life along the shores having tonnes of spare time and being in a very accepting atmosphere Karah had a lot of trouble fitting in with the other, rowdier teenagers, and couldn’t handle having a so much pressure on her from her much larger workload, along with compulsory battles; a new experience for her. Frustrated by these new pressures and by her mocking by other classmates due to her size and weight, she eventually had a rather destructive outburst in class, which ended up causing her to be forced to repeat the year; barely avoiding being expelled thanks to the empathy of her teachers.
Since then, and because of that event, Karah has matured a lot, being able to handle her workload easily now and being able to handle herself during her years as a solo student. Only recently has she applied for a team, and has been having trouble fitting in with the additional pressures of upholding her relationships with her teammates. She is still handling it well, but some fear that another outburst is not far off due to her new emotional stresses from this team along with the recent rekindling of her bullying caused by her odd relationship with Corrine.
Personality:
Karah is rather quiet, like the rest of the team, although she is more likely to speak than Corrine or Zeke. Like Corrine she would prefer to be left alone to work on her interests, but still enjoys company as long as they don’t distract her from her hobbies. While the school generally sees her as calm and serious, in truth she tends to be rather clumsy and even a little ditzy at times, particularly in battles, often forgetting her own abilities mid-fight, much to the irritation of her teammates. Karah’s serious attitude doesn’t get her many friends; but she is well respected in the school, either because of her maturity and surprising wisdom or simply because of her menacing size.
Curiously, while Karah is a hard worker, whenever she has free-time on weekends she rarely works on her hobbies and instead simply goes out swimming or just sleeps all day, generally being very lazy. Her teammates don’t mind since she is otherwise a hard-worker, but they still find it an odd comparison to her usual diligence. She likes nothing better than to take a dive in the local pool or down at a beach, usually dragging along Corrine for company, despite his dislike of ‘wasting time’. She has been known to be much less serious during time off, to the point of being irritating to her friends.
Interests:
Karah is quite the all-rounder in her school subjects, though she is particularly interested in Physics, generally focussing on the field of aerodynamics. She enjoys fighting more than Zeke and Corrine, but not as much as Twitch, as she isn’t as interested in the fighting itself, and more interested in strategy and using her moves for unconventional attacks. Her interest in strategy and planning is further shown by her love of table-top war games, which she is oddly enthusiastic about, having pulled the rest of the team into playing them with her. She in turn enjoys table-top roleplays, though the rest of the team are much less enthused about it.
Moves:
Freshman Moves:
Gust: With a deep breath in Karah expands her already sizeable chest, before exhaling a powerful blast of air that can send foes flying, or ruin Corrine’s organised shelves once again.
Whirlwind: Channeling the power of the wind passed down through the generations of Lugia(s) Karah summons a whirlwind, the size and ferocity of which is variable. While smaller ones tend to have more speed and can fling victims around, she can potentially create whirlwinds that can cover the entire field, sucking up rocks and trees. She generally sticks to smaller ones though, since she doesn’t want to have to pay for a new set of terrain for the battlefields.
Brine: Karah, despite being a Lugia, does not rely on water attacks as much as most. Brine is one of her few water moves, though it makes up for the others easily. Following a deep breath Karah spits out a hail of hyper-compressed water, which easily suppresses far off opponents or simply batters anyone close by.
Dive: Karah, like most water-types, loves swimming, taking any excuse to take a dip. Due to her love of water since her childhood she has learnt to dive to incredible depths and for long lengths of times in single dives, using her species’ specialised (not to mention large) lungs and strong bone structure to keep large vestiges of air and resist water pressure. She particularly enjoys diving down with others with her, giving them air by creating an air pocket under her wings or by simply holding her accomplice in her mouth.
Sophomore Moves:
Fly: Just as she loves swimming Karah loves flying, and as with swimming she enjoys taking friends with her for the ride. Luckily her large body makes holding others quite easy, and her ‘backfins’ (which stick through her clothes) make good hand-holds for any rider/s.
Dragon Rush: Using her weight and size to good use Karah slams into her foe elbow first, layering the attack with a bit of draconic energy to strengthen the punch and boost her speed. She also uses the move to dash short distances, though she has trouble controlling the speed boost.
Blizzard: Karah uses Blizzard like Brine and Gust, taking a deep breath first. However, with Blizzard Karah must store the air for a longer time in order to lower it’s temperature in her lungs (somehow) before spitting out the resulting rain of ice shards.
Steel Wing: Rather than a conventional punch Karah instead slams her foes with her wings in a sweeping motion, generally aiming to send the victim as far as possible.
Juinior Moves:
Aqua Tail: Karah’s only other offensive water move. With a wide sweep Karah swings her large tail across the ground around her, knocking anyone nearby away with either it’s brute force or with the wave surrounding it.
Roar: Rather than the usual menacing roar used by most other pokemon, Karah uses a much more… direct way to send her opponents far off. Chomping her large jaws either directly on the target, or simply scooping the entire person into her maw, she spits the victim across the field with a blast of water and air, sending them a sizeable distance away.
Aeroblast: The signature move of the Lugia. With a very deep breath, which often pulls lighter foes across the ground, Karah sucks in a huge amount of air. With her lungs and mouth full she unleashes a massive, sustained tornado from her mouth, which sends any foes into it’s deadly winds, which are full of droplets of compressed water which can quickly shred anything trapped in the typhoon.
Thunder: With a strange roar Karah calls down a bolt of lightening, frying anything it hits to a crisp. Unfortunately, the move is rather unprecise without there being any rain to channel it through, and often ends up hitting other conductive surfaces nearby, such as her teammates. Or, even more humiliating, herself.
Appearance:
Karah is very tall, easily dwarfing her teammates, though this size is not rare for Lugia. Her weight is rather typical of a Lugia too, although she is actually thinner than most from her experience. Her chubbier appearance is often the subject of her bullying, and although she seems to ignore such things she does have insecurities about it. She generally wears simple blue jackets and trousers, although she would prefer simpler clothing, often hanging around her team’s dorm in little more than a dressing gown.
Team and Relationships:
Karah is probably the closest friend of Corrine, since she shares his seriousness and has shown some affection for the tiny boy, whether he returns it or not. Their size-difference is the subject of many jokes (particularly from Twitch), though neither seem to care. She is part of Twitch, Zeke and Corrine’s team, having been randomly chosen like Corrine. She doesn’t get along well with Twitch due to their opposing interests, and doesn’t like Zeke, complaining that he’s too ‘whiny’ about the workload of the high school. Karah also has a dislike for Janice, although the two have been getting along better since Janice promised not to gossip out her crush on Rayza, and kept her word too.
Karah is the girlfriend of Rayza from Team Dracostrikers, with the two getting together after they met coincidentally while each was out with a different friend. She is a lot sweeter around her crush, rarely growling at the other students and generally being a lot less serious.
Theme Song:
St. Gabriel’s Mask from Ecco: Songs of Time. While a very obscure song to most; it is definitely worth listening to.
