The Half angel race was well know to think of themselves closer to god and completely free of sin. Theythought of themselves higher then all other races. While intellectually driven, and rarely resorted to violence, they were still cruel to anyone that wasn't one of them. Conri was born into the royal family of Wynterlynn as the youngest brother. Timid, reserved and emotionally weak, he was often bullied by his older and only brother Donovan. Donovan was cruel, abusive and believed himself to be the best and strongest in all the land. No greater joy came to donovan then when he was hurting or tormenting some poor animal, or more often, his brother. Donovan didn't leave conri's torment to only emotional assault, he has been know to manipulate and even physically harm Conri, sometimes as far as inflicting flesh wounds. Once when he found out Conri had a crush on a girl he had little interest in, he teased, belittled and then physically fought with conri and used a short sword to slice a deep cut over Conri's right eye. Lucky for Conri, his vison was fine, his pride however, dwindled even more. Donovan told everyone conri had fallen on a rock while conri laid on the ground, bleeding and unconscious. Conri never told anyone what really happened, for fear no one would believe him like his brother said...or worse, he feared his bother would do worse.
Donovan thought of himself as a living god, and did not want to wait to claim the throne. he plotted to kill his father. Conri found out and finally knew he had to do something, causing him to make the deal that would change his life.
Conri never thought of himself as superior, rather the opposite usually and believed the races should all be equally valued.
