What face do you wear? Is it the true you that you show, baring all for the world to see? Or is it a mask? One that you've put on that has taken the place of who you are? Could it then replace who you are beneath, making a mask of your true self, and your true self being the mask? Come, step forward, and perhaps you'll learn. What, you may wonder? A profane revelation of your own nature? Or simply a reassurance of and for yourself.
And what of your reflection? Are there slight imperfections you hadn't been aware of? A crack in the facade? Come, closer now, and maybe it will become clearer. Pay no mind to the mire through which you wade, it is but a distraction from your search. But pay it too much mind, and you may become the target of something else's search. And what do you see when you look upon yourself? Perhaps you already know. Your vacant expression speaks volumes in the stead of voice. Is that the you that the world sees? Or is it what lies beneath the mask you wear? Put your doubts to rest, and forget what you've seen, another day begins. But maybe take a closer look in the mirror from time to time, and make sure there are no cracks to be seen. You may not recognize what lies beneath.
(Wanted to write something a bit out there, maybe some faux profound stuff. IDK, maybe I'll rewrite it later or something.)
