Twenty-three years ago today, on December 19th 1997, Tomorrow Never Dies was released in North America and a number of other territories! (Addtionally, the gala premiere of TND was on Dec 9th, which was the same day as the Thunderball premiere, 32 years prior.)
In honour of that, I now present the poster for the Ames Sond version: Tomorrow Never Diessss
I have to say, in the case of this poster, Rigel absolutely went above and beyond. The many 'TV screens' in the background of this poster represent perhaps the most work-intensive element that has ever been featured in any of the Sond posters, and may remain thus, forever.
Several of the background screens deserve to be shown off on their own, and I'll do just that in a scraps upload within the next few days or so!

Below is some of the ad copy from back in 1997, when this Sond film was about to come out:
-
This holiday season, in cinemas around the world...
An act of violence
YESTERDAY, in international waters, near China: A British ship was sent to the bottom of the sea and a Chinese MiG was shot out of the sky. But how did it begin? Who engaged whom?
The promise of war
TODAY, the world has only one chance for peace -- and just one man for the job: Ames Sond 00S
A world-wide media baron
Elliot Carver - a megalomaniac with a penchant for bad news, the deer's newspapers and TV reports are always somehow one day ahead of the competetion.
A woman scorned
Carver's wife, Paris - a beautiful puma with whom Sond shares a sordid past
The wildcard
Wai Lin - A Shanghai skink investigative journalist, or is she more than she appears?
Two powerful nations stand on the brink of hostilities
Who knows what the new dawn will bring?
TOMORROW belongs.. to Sond.

Okay. Me too, about the snakes. c:
As for the movie: I know it's pretty low on a lot of people's list of Bond movies, but it's special to me, it's the first one I saw in theatres, after a month of watching all the older ones for the first time, via a TV event that showed them all.

Thanks, and thank you for the fave! This one stands out as being the most difficult poster to bring to life, for me and for the artist. It was a challenge to provide adequate reference material for all of the various elements embedded in the image and the images in the back. The stuff in the back was drawn out fairly fully before being shrunken down to fit into those TV screens.
I hope you'll give Rigel some kudos on his post too~

Of course, it might look like for you, that I'm saying that because of politeness and not seriously, but then I have an answer for you - you don't know me good enough. Let's open up my thoughts a bit: I like and respect people who aren't afraid of their own thoughts, and especially to give them freedom. That's will be enough. For now ~
We both don't know each other well enough, that's true. So you calling me cool has always seemed like you couldn't know me well enough to make that judgement, either.
As for my thoughts: I respect/admire anyone who learns a second language well enough to be conversant in it, and read fiction in it.

Wow! This hypes me up to watch the whole movie all over again!
These recreations just make me itch with excitement. I really want to see a 'You Only Live Twice' for all the steamy ladies on it.
The Bond posters give you such a good repository to commission awestriking images from, but what would you say is the least interesting/sexy/cool-looking one? 'A View to a Kill' maybe? Or 'Die Another Day'? (I only did a quick cursory image search to jog my memory just now)

Whoa, hey! You're suddenly commenting on something so recent! :} But I suppose you're only going in order on my written works, jumping up here just for a poster doesn't mess with that at all. :>
Even if TND is kinda one of the Bond movies that people don't have all that much love for, I have a decent amount of affection for it, as it was the first I saw in cinema, and right after I had first watched all prior entries. But anyway, I'm really into this poster too! So much went into it. I really think Rigel's style fits for this era. Slick, sleek and shiny (whereas the older ones are more painterly, of course).
~
I've been craving the bath-house poster from YOLT for years now, yesss. For a long time, I imagined one particular artist would do it, but that seems like it won't happen, and I shouldn't hold on to that idea.
Right now, Sirmaril has done a great job on both the movie that comes before YOLT and the one after it - those being Thunderball and On Her Majesty's Secret Service -- or rather, Thundersssquall and On Our Sovereign's Sssecret Service! And since the Thundersssquall poster was also a prime example of a 'bevy of beauties' image, I think Sirmaril will do well with the YOLT one. Also, it will be like a little triptych/trio/trilogy of posters by one artist, in a row.
~
Not just the posters, but all of the Bond cannon, like frames from the films, or promotional images or book covers, or graphic novels, it's all fabulous fanart fodder. :}
Die Another Day has a more interesting poster than just that one with Bond and Jinx on it, luckily. There's this wide one: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe.....ema_poster.jpg
But also, since I go for the tall format, I might do this variant of that one I just linked: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M.....5ODM@._V1_.jpg
Also, A View To A Kill has two different posters, one being a bit more dynamic than the other:
Boring: https://a.1stdibscdn.com/archivesE/......jpg?width=768
More Dynamic: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M.....5MjE@._V1_.jpg
I'd probably just get that more dynamic one, there, but there's also this combination one: https://www.allaboutmovies.com.au/m.....9d5255d_XL.jpg
I could perhaps get both separate posters done by two different artists [or the same artist], and then combine them to get the full effect, so to speak.
But yes, there's a reason I haven't had those posters done yet. They don't excite me much, and I used to let artists pick which poster they wanted to do, and no one ever wanted to do D.A.D. One person might have considered AVTAK as a third choice in their list of what they'd pick. :P

I'm sorry for jumping ahead, I apologize dear Python! Truth is, I'm sort of stalling on the chronology because I just hit FRWL and I want to finish the book before I jumped in (and maybe watch the movie again because I'm taking my holoday break).
Wow! Wonderful. I was sort of secretly hoping that all the Ames Sond stuff could go on ad infinum. :P I'm feeling fanboyish when I say it, but Ames Sond just has an intrinsic charm to it that I can't resist getting excited at when I see it. I had to jump the gun when I saw this amazing art pop up on your page, the temptation came up when I saw the Thundersssquall, but TNDsss made me break.
And holy moly you were ready with the researched images of posters/graphic media. Of course, you have it all planned out as the mastermind you are.

I didn't have those links at the ready or anything, I just used google image search. I have better-quality versions of all those images here on my PC, but I didn't feel like doing dropbox links just then, so the images weren't as nice as they could have been.
Ames Sond could go on forever, indeed. Even if Bond material stopped being made by people IRL and then I somehow re-made ALL Bond things into Sond things, I could then just make wholly original Sond material! Haha
Also: Ahh, I see! Have fun reading that book! It's very very similar to the book. With it being only the second movie, they were still keeping everything near to Fleming's work [and, I mean.. Fleming was still alive at that point, too].
And don't be sorry! :}

Very nice poster! I did love the idea of having a media baron be the villain and Jonathan Pryce was up to the task. Excellent choices for the villain and the two Sond girls, especially that Skink. How bout the cyberterrorist who corrupted the GPS transmitter? What's he in this version?

Thanks, glad you like it and my choices for the ladies! Thank you for the fave as well. :}===<
I assume you spotted the Sondified Elliot Carver in the background [both upper corners]?
The cyberterrorist was 'Henry Gupta', played by the late great Ricky Jay [comedian, magician, and cardistry expert]. Originally, the character was going to be an indian tech wiz, probably younger, but when they got Ricky, they left the name the same and said he was American, and had begun as a student radical in the 60s.
Anyway, I mention the species he is in the written scenes, here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39758890/
It's no great secret, though: He's a skunk.

Oh yes I spotted Elliot, and the look you gave him is a great one.
Hmm, not sure how I missed that scene. I'll put that with the Thundersquall scenes I am hoping to get time to read soon (I'm doing my clean out my FA backlog thing again, but holding the stories for a bit so I can actually get through the backlog before it gets out of control again).

Well, I still never did all the scenes I wanted to do / thought up for 'Live and Let Sssspy', and I have a teaser poster image that works equally well for Spectre or for L&LS, because the poster it's based on was Daniel Craig, but in an outfit from L&LD.
I also have a high-stakes gambling scene at a private party that's not based on any movie, which I should write for.
I have one other Sond picture that's not based on any existing movie, as well.
Other than that, I'm all caught up on the art I have being written for, and posted. Oh wait, I have something from The Sssspy Who Loved Me, too. But that's it!
~
For the future, I of course need to get the other 7 or so posters that are left to get, including NTTD. I don't know why, but I often think about who I should hire to draw the 'Sssspy Another Day' poster. I mean, I don't think about artists for other posters, just that one, and I don't know why. I don't like that movie all that much. Maybe I just want to buy the simpler version of that poster [the one that's just James and Jinx] and get it over with, instead of the more complex one, with almost all the characters represented.

A gorgeous cat and a darling skink. Also, it seems Sond is mingling with a human lady in one of the tele-screens!
I think Jonathon Pryce as Elliot Carver was my favourite Bond villain that went on the more kooky side of things, even more than Zorin in A View to a Kill (and I always like Walken). Even though he's an evil deer, I still like seein' 'em! https://youtu.be/ZdUEeL8tEPY

Great quote clip to pull, in this moment! :D
Also, yesss, I knew you'd appreciate him on this poster, when I realized you were approaching this point and I looked to see what you had left to get to.
And, yes! Sond is paired with a human lady for the first time, there. That's the Danish professor moment, which occurs early in the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0xSky90E4I&ab_channel=TheViralVideos
Oh, and I feel the need to correct you: That's not just a 'cat', it's a puma!
About Carver: Pryce just plays it so perfectly hammy, you can see the madness dripping off of him, it's great.

The saddest part in the film is the sea drill from the stealth ship to cut the frigate in half on the South China Sea, only to provoke both China and UK into war, just because of hacked GPS satellite to lure the frigate into Chinese territories with wrong coordinates and area of boundary.
Even Paris didn't deserve to be assassinated when Carver wanted her and Bond dead to cover up the terroristic plans. :O

I think the tragedy of Paris Carver is the saddest part of that movie, myself.
The idea of manipulating the ship into Chinese waters and the way they manipulated both the Brits and the Chinese into thinking the other had attacked them: that was a great bit of espionage, a great set-up for a spy plot.

TND has a lot of cool stuff in it, indeed! It was the first I saw in theatre, so it has a special spot in my heart. [Although it's perhaps the 17th Bond film I saw, overall, thanks to first seeing GE on video, then all the others on TV, then TND]
Thanks for the 5 faves on those various Ames Sond posts! :}
I wonder if you'll take the time to check out the alt-version of events from the opening scenes, here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39758890/
