The inner prison
When Aesir saved her and her sister Bothan, Daji asked the Alpha to have the power to protect the ones she loved. The Alpha grinned then and replied "Are you really sure of your wish? The greater power you'll get, the more you'll be chained with responsibilities". The young Daji didn't understand the meaning of this then. All she wanted was the power to defend her sister.
Her wish was granted by Aesir to the end. It was a blessing, it was a curse.
Now that she has put an end to the tyranny of the Dogma, reunited the two kinds and give the galaxy the peace everyone begged for, Daji couldn't help but to think she was imprisoned. The power she gained was useless now, and she was constricted in her duties. Daji prayed to be free of her responsibilities, to finally taste the sweetness of life, the freedom she so longly fought for.
But the Federation needs her. She's the Empress after all. An empress chained in her duties and responsibilities, who has sealed her inner powers, condemned to be the standart of the nation.
That is her fate, and she accepts it.
The greater power you'll get, the more you'll be chained with responsibilities. He was right.
I'm not deceived by the final result, but sadly the watercolors weren't the wisest choice for that scene. That's why I've added inks and chalk on this one.

The overall final production of this piece is amazing. You captured the look of peace and joy, with the hint of despair that she must have. The symbolism used here is portrayed rather well too. So sad that even all her efforts and good doings, she'll be denied the freedom and chance to live her own personal life that she fought for everyone else to have. Very sad indeed.
