Character info:

Marcaeus is an ancient, vampiric entity that feeds upon the energy of souls and the spirits of the dead.

It is a fearsome denizen and Lord of the Netherworld, that has parasitically drained entire Worlds of life energy.

Wherever there has been a great slaughter; wherever the soil has been saturated with blood and abandoned corpses have decayed unburied; it can slip through the Veil separating the Netherworld from the Living World.

While in the World of the living, it harvests rotten and decomposing flesh, organs, bone, horn, teeth, hide and skin to fashion a huge, bestial form that resembles a blasphemous merging of human, wolf and bat. It animates and inhabits this body and through it interacts with the Living World. This body is nearly indestructible, regenerates damage as fast as new corpse material can be added and is terrifyingly strong.

It has a powerful intellect and an adamantine Will. It casts off a psychic field that it uses to make lesser minds forget its presence or bend their wills to its own.

Once it has a foothold on a world, it is almost impossible to exorcise. Its body must be annihilated to drive it back to the Netherworld. Even then this exile may not be for long in times of war or pestilence.

One of the "Great Death Lords" of the Netherworld. It lurks on the other side of the Veil between the Living and Nether Worlds, awaiting opportunities to cross over and devour the souls of the living and the dead.
