Chapter 13: A Dark Alliance
(Meanwhile, in the Forbidden Mountains...)
“YES!!” Maleficent cackled madly as she saw her summoning spell working. “YES! Soon, I’ll take control of an army of powerful beasts!!” She exclaimed. “I’ll have my revenge and the entire Magic Kingdom will be mine!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!”
The Witch-Queen watched gleefully as she saw multiple forms approaching. However, as they came closer, she could see that something was wrong. Midway through, the summoning spell was suddenly cut, as if something had ripped from it. In addition, she saw that half of the forms had fallen through the hole.
“How can this be!?” she thought. “Only a magical disturbance within the summoning circle could create the tear; how is it possible?!” Soon, the beings came closer and with a resounding BOOM!!!, they landed right in the clearing.
The mountains trembled from the impact and dust covered the whole area. Maleficent shielded her eyes from the dust and vanished part of it from her surroundings with her dark magic. Looking into the clearing, she was beyond stunned at the creatures she saw.
All of them were colored crimson red and dark black, but each of them were different in terms of appearance, ranging from gigantic bugs, reptiles, big cats and wolves. The one she most took interest in was the Great Black Wolf; the power surging from him nearly overwhelmed her.
“Incredible...” she whispered in amazement. “These creatures are like titans...” “But, where are the rest?” she wondered. “Urrgh...” Maleficent’s eyes widened when she heard one of the creatures groan, particularly the centipede-like monster. “My back...” The Centipede spoke. “I think it might be dislocated a few places”
One by one, the creatures began to stir. “What just happened?” The Crocodile grumbled, looking around. “Where are we?” The large, red-furred Wolf shook his body, dust flying out of his fur. He sniffed the air. “How did we get here?” he growled. “Where’s Sanctuary City!?”
“Intriguing,” Maleficent thought. “It seems that the beasts possess human-like sentience.” An evil smile spread over her face. “This should make things easier.” Soon, she made her way to the Monsuno.
Meanwhile, the Blood-Moon Tribe were all up on their feet. Backslash was beyond furious. “How!?” He demanded. “How did this happen?!” “Twin-sting!!!” He roared at the Spider. “Where did you send us?!”
The Spider made a sound of annoyance. “In case, you didn’t notice, War-chief,” she shot back. “I am more skilled in poison magic, not the type that drags us halfway across the world into some unknown territory where we have absolutely no idea it is?!” “What about Lok and the Blue-Moon Tribe?!” Backslash growled. “Shadow-hornet, take Spike-bat and Poison-wing and find those cowards!!”
“That won’t be necessary!” A voice called out, getting the Monsuno’s attention. “Who said that?!” Backslash called back, looking around. “Show yourself.” “I’m right here!” The Blood-Moon Tribe looked to see a tall regal woman all dressed in a black robe, with green skin, horns and yellow eyes like a cat. She had a long black specter with a green orb on top.
As soon as each of the Monsuno saw her, they felt their spirits freeze. They could see the power flowing through her; like a deadly poison festering. From the dark aura she produced and from her appearance, they could tell she was not human. “Who are you?” Backslash asked, his red eyes narrowed.
Maleficent smiled and bowed low. “Greetings, mighty beasts of legend!” She exclaimed. “I’m Maleficent, ruler of the Forbidden Mountains and sorceress of the dark arts.” “I apologise for this intrusion,” she added. “but I believe I can help you.” “Which one of you is your leader?” She asked.
The Blood-Moon Tribe looked at each other. “I am Backslash,” The Black Wolf stepped forward. “War-chief of the Blood-Moon Tribe.” “Of course, War-chief” Maleficent replied. “First, I would like to apologize for bringing you here.”
“What!!” Snap-claw roared, stomping forward. “You’re the one who pulled us here?!” “We were about to destroy Lok and his Tribe!!” he added, his pincers snapping. “Now, we lost our chance because of you!” “Stand down, Snap-claw!!” Backslash commanded the Lobster, making him back down a little.
He turned back to Maleficent. “Tell me, sorceress...” he asked, his great head lowered so that his snout was barely inches from her. “What is this place and why did you summon us here?” Maleficent grinned. “War-chief, I have been watching you and your Tribe from my mirror and I am intrigued by you.”
She walked to the rest of the Blood-Moon Monsuno. “Tell me, how long have you suffered humiliation from this Lok and his Tribe?” she asked out loud. “How many times has he defeated you over and over?” She added. “How long have you been denied the glory and blood you all yearn for?”
All of the Blood-Moon Monsuno growled at those words. Constant defeats from the Blue-Moon Tribe have left a deep-seated grudge against them. They wanted nothing more than to wipe them out for good. “You all desire to become strong,” Maleficent added. “You wish to rule over nature and wipe out your enemies.” “Just what are you implying?” Twin-sting asked, her eight legs scuttling towards her.
Maleficent grinned. “I can help you take your revenge!” she proclaimed. “I can grant you power beyond your wildest desires!!” “Join me,” She added. “and I’ll make sure you will all live like kings!!” “You will be free to roam and hunt wherever and whenever you wish!!” She exclaimed. “No force will be able to stand against us!!”
The Blood-Moon Tribe were silent. “You will help us destroy Lok?” Shadow-hornet asked. “Why?” Maleficent grinned. “Of course.” She replied. “After all, we all share a common goal, the desire to rule and conquer what we see.” “If you are not convinced,” she added, before raising her scepter and rubbing the orb on top.
Instantly, the orb glowed brightly and a green mist flowed out from it. To the Blood-Moon Tribe shock, they all saw an image; a clear image of them standing tall and proud surrounded by people offering them food and bowing to them, with the heads of the Blue-Moon Mousno impaled on spikes as trophies.
“What is this?” Shadow-hornet muttered. “That is your future.” Maleficent replied, smirking. “If we join forces, no one will be able to stop us!!” “You will be remembered as gods for years to come!!” she proclaimed. “You will be unstoppable!!”
The Blood-Moon Tribe were speechless, Maleficent smiled. “War-chief, what do you say?” She asked. Backslash looked at his tribe and he turned to Maleficent. “You say you can help us destroy Lok and his tribe?” He asked.
Maleficent grinned. “Of course, mighty War-chief.” She replied. “You and your whole tribe will be unstoppable and together, we’ll rule all of this land.” The Black Wolf grinned, showing his sharp fangs. “Alright, Witch-Queen, I’m listening...”
