... an epic boss battle for a 0.0001% chance of an ultra rare loot drop.
Well, I don't think it is going to go well for this bunch for adventurers though, I think they are way WAAAAAAY under levelled when they found this secret boss by completing the quest with a typo. :P
Be sure to grab the HQ links as well as a 360 viewer link if you want to feel how screwed they are in VR:

This image is probably also vaguely inspired by the cover art for the Black Crypt.
P.S Stay safe for the holiday season!

It's possible but there are some issues from my previous attempts:
1) My animation skills suck. :(
2) Render time in Cycles is a bit too long for this. 45 minutes per frame, at 60 fps is going to take a long long time both eyes. Blender would run out of VRAM and fall back to semi-CPU rendering due to some weird bug if I render both eyes at the same time so I need to manually stitch it up with imagemagick. I most likely have to use eeVR instead to get it out reasonably but at more video game quality which you can see from the Asria wolf stomping videos, but those are 180 only which leads me to the next issue...
3) Video resolution for 60 fps playback at beyond 4K resolution is very limited right now. 30 fps felt a bit too choppy for VR playback and limiting myself to 2048 pixels for an entire 360 horizon field of view leads to very blurry quality! The static image here uses 6000 pixels. Even the Quest 2 caps out at 5760x5760 for 60fps. And NVENC encode caps at 4K so it's going to need x264/5 CPU encode...
I wanted to get a new rig to do all these things, but the whole hardware release cycle this quarter is just terrible. > <

One thing to check when doing stereo rendering is that the red/blue preview is disabled -- for whatever reason, it massively bogs down the rendering process (not just because it's doing both eyes at once for some reason). Of course, that might've been fixed in 2.9...
I wonder if rendering only a small region of the 360, and making the rest static, would help with the video decoding. You also might just be able to do a 180 video, although I haven't tried to do that in Blender yet.

I need to try that again, I pretty sure I did that a few times and it still bogs down (I already use Lock Interface to free up all the viewport resources for the Render) depending on how complex the scene is. I think 180 stereoscopic is the way to go and much less intensive as long as you avoid having a macro looming too high up. Too bad there isn't a 270 FOV standard where it might just work.
On the other hand, if you are willing to just go with reduced quality shading or even flat, previewing the scene file in Blender VR itself (where it's actually room scale and you can walk around in it) is pretty neat too. I can't wait for them to develop more tools for that!

Thank you!
If I'm not mistaken, it was modified from one of Garean's Street Fighter:V Laurena's models from SFM and completely reweighted. It should be this one here: https://sfmlab.com/project/26925/
