Unless you've been living in a cave for the last couple of months, the biggest sporting event (just short of the Olympics) is about to take place. Namely, the FIFA World Cup Soccer Championships, being held this June, 2010 in various parts of South Africa.
Needless to say, I wanted to do my part and submit a drawing connected to the World Cup. Once again, I'd turned to one of the "FA" newbies for my inspiration,
Badrags.
Since this weasel comes from the U.K., and England has a reputation in 'football' (their name for soccer) to uphold, I got the bobcat to help boost the morale for Team England - although Badrags wasn't too keen about my methods.
Using a bicycle pump, Rob inflated the weasel, and then used a variety of paint brushes to decorate the spherical mustelid into resembling a 'football' (or soccer ball, as the case may be). The tape would eventually be used to cover Badrags' mouth (to keep the air inside of him from escaping). The final touch would be to apply some spray paint on various areas of the weasel's body, to convey messages of team spirit for Team England. And eventually, this 'mock football' would be bounced around the audience at one of the South African stadiums where the British team would be playing.
(NOTE: One of the first games of the World Cup finds Team England competing against the USA. So, I'll leave the rest of this scenario up to you; Is Rob helping Badrags support his team? Or is the American bobcat plotting some sort of sports-related sabotage, with the British weasel being 'used'? You decide for yourself!)

I'm not really playing favorites in general, although I'll be happy if Team USA makes it to the semi-finals, at least...
I remember the last time when America made it to the quarter finals a few World Cups ago. Even comedian Robin Williams acknowledged that accomplishment by declaring, "We're finally out of the 'Special Olympics' category!"

And, just to let all of you know, the England/America game ended in a 1-1 draw. England scored its goal within the first four minutes of the game, while Team USA equalized around the 41st minute (when the British goalie failed to scoop up the ball, using those gigantic 'Hamburger Helper' gloves he wore)! It's not as big an upset as that 1-0 USA victory back in the 1950s, but I'm happy with the tie!
If you saw the sequel to this drawing, Badrags, somebody already took the tape off, but stuck something else in your mouth, to make your deflation slow and torturous! Visit http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4071161/ and see!
