It's a great honor to be chosen to guard a shrine, however you must make sure you truly understand just how long term a commitment it'll be before you accept such an offer- the moss and cracks on the statues around you betray this fact. Once the collar is sewn around your neck and you step up onto smooth, cool stone, there's no going back... not that it should deter you from finding your perfect place right atop the plinth where you belong~
Just can't get enough of critter shaped inanimate TF's, been thinking on doing this one for awhile! From yesterday's stream. Watercolor mostly, with gouache for highlights and india ink! Plus editing in Photoshop to bring it all together. :D

Oh man just imagining what that must feel like. Not only is he completely inanimate, he also has a new body he can feel through...maybe that new tail of his wants to twitch and move around, but of course it can't being locked in place.

A tantalizing sensation, to feel that brand new body but not be able to budge an inch! And with all that vulpine energy you'd just want to jump and run around, better find a way to hold it all in I suppose~
Permanent doesn't have to mean forever! Permanent just means it's your new default form and won't revert on its own. Maybe once you've fulfilled your contract the spirits might let you go, that is... if you still wanted to. ;D

I like to think of these guardian statues slowly building up energy over time, and once they have enough they can temporarily manifest themselves as an ethereal spirit to defend the shrine or do whatever bidding is needed of them for a short while before returning to their stony body to recharge~
