Add to that the truth that twitter seems to prefer unfinished rough sketches over finished works and it is quite something
I personally noticed that sketches seem to feel more alive, than finished polished work. Though, not always
Note:I say that from artist perspective, not as watcher.
Oh, maybe also, that in sketches we will overlook some anatomy and etc mistakes, more focused on idea itself, while in, as you said, cemented art all those mistakes will be clearly visible.
At least, this is second idea that came to my mind
