These are my mom’s brownies, that I have tried to recreate for YEARS. Found a copy of her recipe on my phone that’s 3 years old lol. Sorry for the crappy photo.. will replace when I have time to take a prettier picture, also this batch let me know I needed to bake a bit longer at a Lower temperature.
They are slightly cakey, but more On the fudgy side, with a crispy top. And it was that top I w@s trying to recreate.
200g (2 sticks) butter
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 cups granular sugar
1 and 1/2 cups flour
1tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
Melt butter on stove add in cocoa, and mix until just simmering. Remove from heat. Add sugar. Combine. Add in flour, baking powder and salt until completely combines. ADD IN EGGS LAST. This is what I had messing up for decades! With whisk and a spatula, combine until just smooth. Pour into buttered 9x13 pan. Bake at 325/170 for 50 minutes to an hour... depending on how gooey you like your brownies.
Take out, let cool slightly... Shove into mouth as much as possible before your wee ones demand to eat the whole thing :3
Also great with walnuts or pecans. My mom often topped if with coffee icing (powdered sugar plus coffee and a tad bit o butter) but I prefer it just as is.
Also I noticed they finally added a food/recipe option! WOHOOO!
