ALTHOUGH very inaccuate, this is New York 1972 and yes those are the twin towers in the background being constructed for the first time. Bold move yes, probally offended a buttload of people but hey it's my comic.
You may be wondering "Why the hell would I even put those there?"
Well simple, I've been working on a comic for the past few months almost non-stop and it takes place 100 years after an incident in 1972 that made most of mankind (Since it's a furry comic, it's furkind) to suddenly turn into dust leaving behind a few survivors.
So in New York, the construction of the towers were never finish, nor destroyed in 2001 so in my comic the world took an alternative path of where not only the towers are still standing WELL into the future, were never finished too.
The main characters being the grandchildren of the survivors from 1972 now in the year 2072. I do not want to spoil to much but in the comic, there will be more 70s' version cities such as Chicago, Vegas, San Francisco, and much much more... however, until I can get a comic artist to help me along just enjoy this quick sketch I did for the first city in my Comic.
Oh and you can't tell by this sketch, but the story behind it involves everyone turning to dust and the cities being completely untended for 100 years except for those few sole survivors who managed to make it through the quiet earth. Now the streets of New York is lush with wildlife and green with plants. And the once busy office towers of downtown new york act as not only a tomb of it's former residents but also as vertical ecosystem :3
SO, the cities wern't destroyed, the city wasn't ravaged by some unknown force, people simply went *POOF* and the cities were simply, left behind to grow wild
So enjoy!!

Haha, I was about to ask if you were from NYC, until I saw your tag for Arizona furs. I'm a New Yorker, actually. (No, it's not offensive, it's history.)
I just felt like commenting, though, because this made me smile. It kinda reminds me of this one 70's cartoon, Fritz the Cat, if you've ever heard of it. If not, maybe check it out!
