Insomniatic leopards record video game songs at 4 AM. Very nostalgic song for me, wish I could play it better. :3 Guitar is in drop C tuning at the moment, so it's in a slightly lower key than normal.
All I can hear is the glaring errors I made.. Need to hit my treble strings harder and bass strings softer.. This would sound 1000x better if I had a nylon string to play on. ..And if I learned how to actually play fingerstyle properly >:3
This is a departure from my normally very specialized style. I'm much more comfortable with sweep picking, pedal tones, and palm muted chugging power chord riffs. Just felt like something softer for a change.

For a fingerstyle experiment, this isn't bad at all :) It could do with some volume changes like you mentioned, but the performance is great otherwise.
I find it really difficult to play clean and have it sound good, as well... little mistakes of rhythm and picking are much more obvious!

Dynamics give me so much trouble when fingerpicking >< You have so much more control over the tone and volume of the notes than you do with a plectrum, and I just don't practice it enough. I have enough work to do cleaning up my sweep arpeggios and smoothing out my legato :p
From what I can tell, though, you're doing very well on both those counts so far! You've been learning for longer than I have (I think it was about two years ago when I actually bought a guitar and seriously tried to learn it) and I still rely on a lot of recording software magic to be able to play what I write. From the Youtube video you linked to on your latest journal, you're already quite far beyond me - perhaps I need to actually practice more :)
