A great, big thank you goes out to my friend Will (Will Woods) for drawing this from description for me--A one and a half ton terror in its own right.
The Combat Exoskeleton is the Xolmiq's traditional "Man-Tank" and has been used for almost three centuries on their homeworld (Xelych) in one form or another and generally has served the same purpose throughout its entire operational span: Elimination of light vehicles, armor and infantry by sheer overwhelming brute force.
Generally they see deployment as support units, bringing heavy firepower to bear when needed (thanks to it's heavy 23mm slugthrower in particular), and going places that their tanks or orbital strikes (since they lack a traditional concept and means of aerial combat) cannot.
Other features of the machine include an auto-tracking main gun that moves wherever the head goes, an autoloader mechanism for changing out spent autocannon ammunition drums. Thick, angled ballistic ceramic, steel, and depleted uranium (since the Xolmiq are quintessentially immune to radioactive materials, and in fact require gamma ray wash to survive) armor and fully-integrated analog controls roughly equivalent to suped-up versions of 1950's hardware.
The entire thing is powered by a combination of a small monopropellant turbine (running on a ninety percent solution of hydrogen peroxide) and a three hundred watt RTG (Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator) for backup power and environmental controls.
Generally it is too heavy for them to ferry directly to their off-world colonies in bulk quantities or use aboard a ship (which would prove a complete and total disaster), thereby restricting its use to ground only and facilitating its manufacture locally wherever it is produced.
This particular exoskeleton belongs to the individual nation Iolga, and has likely found its path blocked by a lava floe common to Xelych's extremely hot, radiation scarred, and just plain hellish environment.
