I haven't drawn my red, docked tailed (though you can't see it here), Houndoom character, Rascal, in a while. Nor have I drawn a background, not even a cheap one like this in a while. XD
I was sorta inspired to play around with expressions by an expression used on a badge drawn by
vani and wanted to try something similar. ^^; That and I needed to draw one thing for myself before going back to commissions.

Heh, in general I'm not much of a fan of docked tails on real dogs. I don't understand the appeal to want to cut off part of a dog's tail for aesthetic purposes (I don't know if there's much of a reason other than it's visually pleasing). ^^;
It would be pretty awkward if they had those spade tips on their head. XD

Who ever said it was aesthetic? It's actually for the dog's health. Take a doberman for example- their tail is so thick, that if it hits an edge of a wall wrong it could snap their spine in two.
And yes, lol, but so silly funny xD Houndoom with his tail coming out his face XD

Really? Hmmm...never knew that. In gerneral though when it comes to most breeds I don't really see any reasons for why they get their tails docked. They just seem to be accepted as breed standards without much reason. Like I don't know why poodles get their tails docked especially 'cause it's not even fully docked...
Yeah...I don't think having a tail coming out his face would be to helpful. x3 Might get in the way in a pokemon battle. XD

Lol Houndoom's tail used Flail. It hit his eye! OUCH! lol
Anyways- for the doberman pinscher breed the tail is docked for health reasons, as the ears are cropped because they have so many ear diseases and problems that it's cleaner for them to be cropped as well :) Can't speak for the other breeeds though, lol.
