Another awesome artwork I commissioned from my dear friend Leesa a few months ago, but I forgot to post. It'll make a nice prelude to my birthday pic on Dec 28~
Out of the many different timelines and alternate universes in the DC comics continuity, there are few more despised and ridiculed than some of the DC universes made in film. From the colorful and cheesy Poison Ivy from the equally over the top Tim Burton's Batman movies, to the very controversial depiction of Harley Quinn and her lack of nostalgic attire in the original Suicide Squad movie. Even the less than positively received Patience Phillips donning the role of Catwoman instead of the traditional Selina Kyle received mockery, her overly Cat-tastic personality and cat-based origins tarnishing an already disliked film.
Lanif Angelkiss, however, during his exploration of the different multiverses in DC, found value and charm in these unwanted ladies, and wanted to bring them together to form a very unique party of heroines, Charlies Angels style. Now, backed by the inexhaustible funding by Angelkiss, the trio go on merry adventures across the myriad of universes beyond their own, saving worlds and causing mayhem in equal measure (though more towards the former when Lanif is around).
True, the three of them together would probably be considered the worst versions of Gotham City Sirens to some, but to Lanif that's okay. They're his Sirens now~

Lanif is pretty awesome like that. It's why he's a friend of the Tribunal Of The Imagination.
I'm also one of those weirdos who thinks the Joel Schumacher Batman movies are underrated... campy? Goofy? Kinda silly? You bet your ass. But the only reason we think of them as "bad" or "worst superhero movies of all time" can be boiled down to a single word.
Homophobia.

Aw, thank you! >////<
Though I'm not entirely sure if homophobia is the main culprit for movies like Batman and Robin and Batman Forever being so disliked. I think it's more that fans of Batman TAS view the TAS depiction of Batman and the city of Gotham as the only true way they should be depicted. Joel's movies was just too silly and campy for those that wished Batman to remain dark and serious like animated series. Compare Heart of Ice's Mr.Freeze to the pun-loving Arnold Schwarzenegger as Victor Freeze. The bat-credit-card. Bat nipples. Bane being an underling henchman instead of a mix of brawn AND brains as a tactical genius.
They probably were not expecting tones similar to Adam West's more colorful and goofy Batman, and that's what pissed them off.

Bane was never anything but a lame, one-note "Death Event" villain. And of COURSE Mr. Freeze acted like he walked off the Adam West TV show... if it weren't for the Adam West TV show, Mr. Freeze wouldn't exist at all.
And yeah, it was mostly homophobia... between Joel Schumacher being openly gay and a generation of fanboys convinced that Frank Miller was a genius for turning Batman into a quasi-fascist psychopath who beats up muggers because he misses his mommy.
