A couple close friends are about to start sparring. But first, a sporting handshake. And background change? Sure, why not?
This is a digital remaking of my first scaly art posted on the internet, based on the title screen of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter. I tried harder on shading this time, including trying out the blur tool for the first time to make the different shades blend more seamlessly. I followed the shading of the original source as best I could, but had to improvise in certain areas (Ralus doesn't wear a gi like Ryu does, for example). I can't believe it's been almost six months since I started drawing (mostly off-site). There were slumps along the way, but it's been an enjoyable ride. Here's to another six months, and hopefully more!
Oh, and the blue guy is Dhaxon. Every fighter's gotta have a rival, after all. He started out basically as a palette swap of Ralus, with swapped out facial features. But over time, I gradually drew him a bit bigger in both height and bulk, and gave him a more stern, serious personality compared to Ralus' laid-back, cocky attitude. No elemental powers, either. He just hits things really hard, and sometimes that's all you need.
