The Morning had come, with the early rays of the sun shining over the waking City. Thanks to the curtains placed up on the windows for many residents, the bright sun rays were dampened, leaving only a bright enough shine to show that morning had come. However, for one small apartment dwelling, the bright rays of the sun shined through the curtainless window, beaming through the full rays of the sun directly into the eyes of young woman, who had to immediately get up to get away from the bright light. Raising her arm to cover the bright sun blaring at her, Yoko got up from her heavily worn mattress, trying to get her eyes to focus.
Yoko: Damn. I always hate it when it’s a sunny day. Can’t get any damn sleep. Then again, I did stay up late talking to that woman.
As Yoko remembered what had unfolded the previous night, her eyes widened over the fact that after telling Diamonds everything that was bothering her, she never received the money she was promised.
Yoko: Oh God damn it! I told her everything and I never got that cash!
The moment Yoko spoke loudly to herself, Rat stirred in her bed, slowly opening her eyes after being awakened by the sudden outburst.
Rat: Jeez, Yoko. Can you keep it down? Especially this early in the morning?
Yoko: And hearing you say that, I take it you ended up getting drunk last night.
Rat: Yeah. And what if I did? So what? It’s my body.
Yoko: Yeah. But it was our money. Which might I add that from the looks of things, you blew most of it on beer and liquor.
Rat: Oh relax. We can get some more. Just gotta wait until tonight.
Yoko: Yeah. You mean the amount of cash we need to conjure up to pay the rent for this dump? And all of the other rent payments we’re behind on?
Rat: Yeah. Why worry so much? Besides. If the Landlord tries to kick us out, we can always beat the crap out of him.
Yoko: I think if we did that, paying the rent would be the least of our problems.
Rat: Meh. At least in the slammer you get a free meal and a place to stay.
Yoko: You know what? Screw it.
Yoko walked to one corner of the apartment where her clothes were placed. Hanging on a coat hanger with a nail on the wall, was the Gothic Lolita Bunny girl outfit she did her best to not have get damaged. Beside the bunny girl outfit, was the black coat that she had on her when she mysteriously found herself in the World she is in now after perishing in the Keyblade War. Stripping out of her worn and torn pajamas, Yoko took her black coat from the hanger, got herself dressed, washed her face, and made her way to the front door.
Yoko: Rat. You better not get drunk in the middle of the day again. You know what happened the last time that happened when we had to work at night.
Rat: Yeah yeah I get it, Yoko. I can handle my booze a lot better now.
Yoko could do nothing but sigh, as she made her way out of the apartment, and walked out of the building.
Yoko: Okay. Since Rat drank most of what we stole last night, it looks like it’s up to me to get some extra from some unfortunate souls. And what better place than large crowds.
Yoko began to walk down the sidewalk, where she started to make her way to the one area knew that was always busy with a large crowd of people. With a few minutes of walking, Yoko reached the area she always went to pickpocket people whenever her and Rat were desperate for money. The area was known as the Four Suits Fountain Squares, an area where people and tourists came to watch the amazing show that were performed using both of the Casino’s gigantic fountains. With the people too distracted by the show to be paying attention or taking any notice of the possessions that they had in their pockets or tied to them, this made it the perfect area for Yoko to pickpocket and rob people blind.
Yoko: Okay. Showtime.
The moment the Fountain Show began, Yoko made her move. Calmly and slowly, Yoko calmly and casually walked across the very back row of people who were distracted and watching the show, all the while carefully and quickly taking people’s wallets, phones, and anything else that was able to be stolen without alerting the owner. With the show continuing on, Yoko couldn’t help but notice a young Kitsune woman who was watching the show who completely stood out from everyone else. The crowd of people who were watching or walking by all wore normal clothing, business suits, or dressed as a tourist. But when it came to the person she spotted; she wore a strapped-on top with a pair of shorts that had her tail sticking out from the back of them, as well as a knot tied around the shorts that appeared to be a loincloth, along with a pair of boots and gloves that had holes at the front of the tips, and a red scarf that was around their neck. But when Yoko looked around the Kitsune woman’s waist area, hiding from behind her tail, she saw they had a small pouch that was out in the open, tied to their waist. But when she saw the small knife near the pouch, Yoko knew she had to be quick and not get noticed in taking the pouch or else she would end up getting a violent retaliation from them. When Yoko saw her window of opportunity to take the pouch, she went for it, calmly walking pass the young Kitsune, while at the same time doing her best to avoid touching her tail. She undid the knot the pouch had, and sneakily slipped it into her black coat pocket. The moment Yoko took the pouch, she continued to walk calmly and casually away from the crowd, making her way down a deserted alleyway where nobody would find her.
Yoko: Alright. Made it out if there with nobody suspecting a thing. Now time to see what did I get.
Yoko began to empty out her pockets from her black coat, proceeding to empty out all of the wallets she was able to snatch of all of the money and credit cards that each of them contained. But unbeknownst to her, while Yoko thought she made a clean getaway from the scene, she was actually being followed, by the same young Kitsune whose small pouch was taken from her.
????: I will admit. You were really good with your stealth and your movements when stealing from those tourists. But it seems you didn't even notice I was following you the moment you took my sack!
Hearing the new voice from behind her, Yoko quickly turned around. Facing her, was the same young Kitsune girl whose small pouch she had taken, but now had an angry expression, arms crossed, and had one of her feet tapping the ground.
Yoko: I should've guessed you would be the one to cause me some problems. And here I thought I was Scott free.
????: Give me back my pouch. And if you do, I won't turn you in to the authorities. And seeing all of the stuff you stole from those others in your possession, you won't have a way to get your way out.
Yoko: And seeing you really wanting to have this pouch back, something really expensive must be inside it.
Yoko, who had the small pouch in her right hand, started to undo the knot with her left. And seeing that she was about to take out what was inside, the young Kitsune approached her, ready to draw out her small knife.
????: Don't you-!
Before the young Kitsune could finish her sentence, she stopped as soon as she saw Yoko move the pouch to her left hand and reached out her right. Where out if nowhere, a key-shaped weapon appeared out of thin air, pointed directly at her.
Yoko: Don't even try.
However, even with the warning, the young Kitsune instead dashed towards Yoko. As Yoko tried to strike her with the Keyblade, she missed, and the young Kitsune girl was now behind her.
????: Hmmm. So, you really have nothing in those pockets of yours except these glasses. Kind of not your style with the outfit you're wearing.
When Yoko turned around to face the young Kitsune, she began to panic. In the young Kitsune's hands, were a pair of star glasses. Specifically, the star glasses she had tucked into one of the pockets of her black coat.
Yoko: Give that back!
Yoko had lost her composure, as she was now swinging her Keyblade, trying to strike the young Kitsune to get her Star glasses back. But all of the strikes were easily dodged, as each swing missed.
????: Oh ho! Looks like these are pretty special to you. Just like my pouch is!
Yoko: I said give it back!
Yoko continued to swing her Keyblade frantically, trying to get back her Star glasses. But seeing how desperate she was, the young Kitsune could see she was not thinking rationally, and was just trying to do what it took to get the glasses back.
????: If you don’t stop trying to attack and listen to me, I will break these glasses!
Hearing this, Yoko immediately stopped.
Yoko: No please! Please don’t do that! Please…..it’s all I have……
????: I’ll give them back, if you give me back my pouch.
Yoko: Alright okay. Here…
Yoko reached her left hand out to the young Kitsune, as she took her pouch back, and it's place, was Yoko's star glasses.
????: There. We have what we want back.
Yoko:........Thank you......
????: I know it's none of my business, but why are those glasses so special to you?
Yoko did her best to get her breathing to calm down, proceeding to give her answer when she did.
Yoko: There…they’re all I have left to remember my friends…
????: Oh. I’m sorry.
Yoko: No they’re not gone. I…..I ran away from them.
????: But why?
Yoko: It’s a long story…
????: And I don’t have time for a long one. There’s also the fact you were able to take all of these wallets and money flawlessly with nobody noticing. Which I will say now, I don’t approve whatsoever of you stealing from people who were just going about their day. But regardless, what if I told you that I had a little proposition for you? One that will help you get up on your feet and away from doing stuff like this?
Hearing this, Yoko knew that this was her only chance. Her only chance to get out of the situation she was in.
Yoko: Okay. I’ll do it. But since I’m agreeing to this, I think it’s only fair I get to know your name.
????: My name is Olivia. Nice to meet you.
Yoko: Yoko. Likewise. Though never expected to meet under these terms.
Olivia: Same here. But life tends to always have a reason. Now then. Since you agreed to help me, I’ll tell you what I need help with.
Yoko: Fire away.
Olivia: Yoko. I’ll be needing your help in stealing a Diamond from someone.
The moment Yoko heard Olivia’s request for help, she was speechless.
Yoko: I’m sorry. Can you say that again?
Olivia: I’ll need your help in stealing a diamond. A large diamond from someone’s Mansion. It’s a bit of a challenge doing it on my own, but with some help it should be no problem.
Yoko: So, let me get this straight. You don’t approve of me stealing wallets from the people watching the fountain show. And yet here you are, asking me to help you steal a Large Diamond from somebody else?
Olivia: Yes. Because the guy who owns that large Diamond, he’s loaded and can easily afford another. While the wallets you stole from those people watching the fountain show cannot. They all have families and loved ones who need it more. But regardless of the case right now. Here.
Olivia took out a small piece of paper, and gave it to Yoko.
Olivia: The address is in this paper. I’ll meet you at the location provided at the time written down. Don’t be late.
With everything set, Olivia took her leave and began to walk out of the alleyway. Leaving Yoko alone to read the paper she was given.
Yoko: Jesus Christ. Today has gone from just making a bit of cash, to a major robbery. How the hell did things escalate to this level?
I want to give a lot of thanks to my friend
jurgenblue for making this picture for me. They captured the scene exactly the way I pictured it. Not to mention the expression both of them are giving to one another. This also shows off that Yoko doesn't just have only her Gothic Lolita bunny outfit, but also has a long black coat with her that she obtained back when she was in Daybreak Town. But no matter the case, this is the most unexpected way I have ever seen two characters become friends, and I really like it too :D . Thanks again for this,
jurgenblue :) .
