OK, so I'm super late on putting this up but getting it out for SDragon01 and according to the upload date of my Sta.sh, I got it up in time, so...
Anyway, September 24 was Simon's birthday and just days prior to it, I offered to quickly sketch up a new design for one of his characters, Alex, the son of his main character, Sacred Dragon. If I'm correct, there has only been art of him once, and that was of something done by LilArrin about eight years ago, when he was depicted as an adult. As a result, there really isn't any art of him now as a child, so I decided to fix that.
When we started discussing what he was supposed to look like, he gave me mostly creative freedom. Seeing as his only other depiction is as an adult, when he wields a blade, I felt that I didn't want to copy that. So instead, I wanted to use his bond with his brother, Goldie, and make a base from that. As such, Alex is just as minimalistic as Goldie, although not by much. He doesn't wear shoes, but he does wear a sleeveless denim hoodie, gray fingerless gloves, and he has a special version of the Royal Family Emblem, which instead of angel's wings, uses dragon's wings, and he wears it like a necklace.
His Highness, the Second was originally created by a friend of Simon's, the child of Sacred and their character (I don't recall who they are but I will put that in once reminded), and he is currently 11 years old, at the time of this upload. While not blood relatives, Goldie is his brother, Kye his uncle, and his grandparents Minnie and Orville, and great-grandparents Alexander and Alexandria. Because of his father's ascension to royalty, Alex serves Aunov as its prince, alongside Goldie.
Born from Sacred, he is also part dragon like his father, meaning that he has inherited some of the powers of his father and ancestry, such as super strength and his power over water. However, since he is mostly a Yoshi, his body also plays by the same rules as Goldie did growing up, in which it matured faster than they did, meaning that like Goldie, he has the body of an adult Yoshi even though they are still young.
Because Alex is not my character, and the time this is being uploaded is the middle of the night for Simon, I can't talk about all of the specifics concerning his background and life story, but if I can at least try to explain current details and ambitions, Alex is an ambitious explorer, he longs to grow up and be strong and brave like his father and uncle, so that he may travel out into the world and explore like they did. Alex also is a budding Pokémon enthusiast, looking to become a capable Trainer and knowledgable about battling and the ever-expansive realm of Pokémon. He also cares dearly for his friends and family, and his undying loyalty is seen as a wonderful trait to build off of, especially towards Goldie, who is perhaps his strongest motivation, wanting very much to travel with him in search of his mother.
Any additional details that SDragon01 provides to me will be added to this description. This isn't exactly how I try to write my descriptions concerning characters, but there are some limitations to putting this one together. Despite that, this was super fun to do, and being able to have most of the freedom to come up with something was really enjoyable. I feel like doing this years ago, I might not have been as satisfied, but this year has continued to be a great year for art for me, so I felt very satisfied with the end result.
