That's not about the effect around the letter, that's the font itself.
I think Varsity is using DIN or Verlag, and they are beautifully drawn. Yours imitate but... well, it's not the same ;)

(and yeah, I'm quite the typographic nerd sometimes ;) )

As a big fan I should have checked out this project by now. At any rate I may soon, or I may decide to wait to buy my printed copy and start fresh. (I can do that since I know very little about it.)

Anyway none of the above means anything much, but I do want to write that it looks more than interesting. ...and the cover is very well done indeed! It's clear enough visually, makes me confident that I know a bit about what to expect as far as theme and quality and stands out from the crowd of this kinda' publication. I bet it will entice a lot of people to buy it.

Hmm, being a bit self centered I wonder if there's any hyper-sensitive, way too shy guy character. Probably not but don't anyone tell me.

Love the colouring style, but I have to say that the slight tilt to the piece Reallllyyy takes away from it. I think if you straightened it out a bit, it would look SO much better. *nods*
