A 30 - 45 minute landcspae sketch.
The world around Myre is very meager and nearly dead. Seeing landscapes that contain mossy parts and underneath massive rocks and mountains is not too rare yet it always means something special to the traveler.
I think I really should finally take myself time for a large personal painting featuring the character Myre in a well worked-out landscape that is far from a concept scribble. Also, I finally came up to add some blue sky. C:
I noticed that very less of my paintings show a blue sky or at least some parts of it. It's not that the weather is always nice for the people living in the world of "Myre".
More concepts and scribbles will come soon and hopefully ,wish me luck, I find some time to work on many proper paintings that will show the character and her world a lot better. :3
Thanks a lot for looking!

One piece of this pictrure reminds me running lynx and a human face. Look: http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/2826/g22382yn.jpg
This is amazing, especially considering how fast you did it. Did part of your efficiency come from custom brushes you've designed? Also, was this done in photoshop, painter, or something else?
Being this fast at drawing is one of my more long-time goals, and seeing more experienced artists such as yourself always amazes me at the speed and efficiency at which they work.

i like best when the world is the subject, but also close in to objects and then "people" to give it scale.
i really really love all of this green. it's always how i think a world should be. i guess because of growing up in the sierras and then living in oregon for the only decade i was away from them. even now, where i'm living (back down here in northern california) is at the base of them, and the little town at 2000 ft elevation where i grew up, is only 50 miles away.
your plant spirit critter people are just so exactly the symbol of the kind of world/space i did grow up in.
the way the green glows, i just love that.

...Punches mouse. Sorry about the empty comment.
Anyway. One of my favorite things about landscape are is the FEELING they give me. I've always gotten different emotions from rendered landscapes (which is why I enjoyed Morrowind and Oblivion, the video games, so much)
And this just gives one of those awesome feelings. x)
