The spindle in the middle towards the back is a powerful magic artifact from a previous civilization. Airships in this world are built to use spindles like this to supply their power, which is then channeled into glyphs and runes throughout the hull to make it neutrally buoyant, and also into the two sail assemblies for propulsion.
