Because the episode of that show with the same title teased me as a kid. The title card had the Ami silhouette as a mermaid, so when they eat the bad sushi and the rest of the episode was just a collection of weird hallucinations, my first thought was that the sushi would, like, mutate them into mermaids or something and the episode would be about them trying to change back or at the very least one of the hallucinations would be at least one of them as a mermaid, but neither of those scenarios happened. Golden opportunity teased and lost. I tried filing a formal complaint with the network in regards to their egregious false advertising, but to this day I've never been compensated. So fuck it. Sometimes in life, when you want to see some cartoon ladies get mermafied, you gotta do it yourself.
