And now for something completely different, again!
Another exercise in trying to forget about rules and just paint stuff, and this is the result! Tried to ignore the many flaws and leave brushstrokes etc., to save time and get the rough painting look I like. Think it turned out very well - one of the few images that came out almost exactly as I imagined! Definitely have to keep focussing on it, though.
Might have to F5 to get the full resolution.

Both! In principle there's nothing wrong with taking weeks on a piece, ofcourse, but it usually starts to feel like a bit of a slog for me halfway through. As for the habits, I certainly want to move towards art goals irrespective of tools - for example, worrying about brushes is something I used to do a LOT, but what's really important is getting the idea on page, if you know what I mean!
Ah, I see! I love to see your drawings, the painterly style seems quite unique, so I am happy that PikaJota's Lapras Paradise project allowed me to discover you. However I didnt know how long you usually take working on a single piece.
But I can see why you want to accelerate your process when you feel like you're slogging through your artwork after a while, though. I am no artist myself, so my knowledge is limited, but challenging habits and pushing through even when there are imperfections is a valuable lesson to learn even outside of art. So I am glad to see you bringing out art like this! All you need to do is to stick by it for a while, and I am sure you'll achieve long term improvements. Plus, you probably will get even more ideas out on canvas this way, and everyone will be happy about that :D
What are you going to work on next, then, if I may ask? :D

Some of my big paintings took weeks! It really cuts into motivation, and it makes it a lot harder to spot flaws when you're staring at it so long. Still not necessarily a bad thing though, to be sure - the time usually does show, and I'm glad you like'm!
Nooooo idea about next stuff - I generally just doodle stuff until something good comes out, or until I get struck by inspiration or something. Could be anything!
