Anthro snowy owl, with a scarf! Awwww!
As soon as I showed the finished pic to Heather (Bruton, my roommate for the con) she said 'I hate to tell you this, but male Snowy owls are pure white...'.
Damn it! 'But, some of the referance pics in the client's book have spots!'
'Those are all females.'
Damn it!
Fortunately,
talmak loved it, and we can just pretend this is a pic of his character as a juvenile....
Inked sketch, done with some shading just because I wanted to give fair value (it was a small book)

*smiles* you handle avians wonderfully: most of your work is gorgeous, but avians, especially antho ones, take a bit of extra loving detail to handle well: though I am working with more lithe, humanoid birdfolk myself, I actually imagine them being fairly squat in stature, at least when at rest, as any bird keeps themselves to avoid dragging large wings and tail on the ground, and dragging long arms or legs in flight.
Definitely a cute Orly. I believe I shall favorite this image so I can remember to keep an eye on your work now and then.

*grins* your quite welcome of course: compared to the actual drawing, commenting is a snap, so I figure its only common curtesy to let an artist know when their work interests you, hmm?
*laughs* I think I drew videogame characters first, which sadly explains why I'm a gamer first and artist second: I'm still trying to shift gears there: I think I'd have an easier time quitting caffeine But being able to draw art like this would make it worth it, I think
