The robotic panther fresh from being converted and bringing others into the grips of his new robotic alien masters goes into the ship to recharge. Cables come down to plug into the robot and provide energy not just for his systems but also for the nanite production systems inside the panther.
Soon a new batch of conversion nanites will be ready once again for when the panther goes out to find new victims. He will inject the nanites into their bodies just as it was done to him.

This would be a great revelation for a boss battle, though I'm positive Mega Man or Metal Slug have done it at least once, having the boss be hooked up by a bunch of cables and then revealed when they detach.. Still fun to visualize though, you enter through the double doors as X or something, into a dark room, with just the sickly blue glowing ominously...
