Something about that scene with Jinjur looked familiar. https://classconnection.s3.amazonaw.....1843580082.png

All those supporting General Maiham, as well as the news of the conspiracy, will have shocking effects throughout the kingdom. Sometimes it takes an a$$ whoopin to open the eyes of the population. Kathy as shown that the General is nothing but bluster. Bullies tend to be that way, use their money or power to bully others. And use their hot air fake facts to brainwash their followers.
There's something so reminiscent about the last panel, but I can't put my finger on it. Jinjur's upturned eyes, the postures of her attendants, the way her flag is flying... it's something ecclesiastical or biblical, or I was even thinking of the Revolutionary War.
Bravo! I felt like this was a fitting way to start the New Year.

The third panel is taken from "The Death Of General Wolfe," painted by Benjamin West. There are a number of "dying general" paintings that look very similar, but the furled flag in the West piece was what made me choose this one. It is supposed to be the "A" strip for 01/04, but I needed to use it here to fill of the three-strip page layout--plus it IS the end of the chapter, so it really belongs at this point.
That's an interesting tableaux. (I seem to remember a death of George Washington painting that had a similar layout.). But an interest source that makes it doubly appropriate, since it takes place during the Seven Years War (aka French and Indian War) in Quebec. Murphy seems to take the place of the Mohican warrior observing the action. Also a bit unrealistic in both cases, since they're both in an open space.
But as been observed before, if you're going to steal, steal from the best.

Rossini was a magpie that Madam Jade used to spy, right?
And Rossini stole a pen as evidence.
Rossini was...The Thieving Magpie.
