I owned the TJ before and yes it is very different.
In this picture it looke stange cause it simply flipped backwards when i was driving uphill, normally you have to tie it down with two straps.
And it was the second time i opend it since i bought the car, the fabric was still very stiff. Now it folds down a lot easier.
