To me, this is what furry is all about.
Amidst the traffic and tails of Califur, out of the crowd came two boys
and their father. All three were wearing dinosaur tails and looked like
they were having a blast.
The boys were clearly in awe of the fursuiters, and were showing their
appreciation of the art and acting skills on display by spontaneously
drawing a picture of the character portrayed before their eyes.
These kids were awesome cool, and it was obvious to all in attendance
that they were the beneficiaries of some great parenting. I mean, come on,
don't you wish your dad wore a tail and had a page on FA?
I got a high five from the youngest boy and they went on their way.
An hour or so later, as I was having a drink in the lobby bar (what a shocker,)
the eldest boy approached me and held out this picture for me to keep.
I was so surprised! What a great gift. He even got my lei in the drawing.
So thank you Bryce! An 8 year old made my con that much more amazing.
I have your masterpiece proudly displayed on my fridge.
And a special shout to
for allowing me to display this treasure
and for raising some great furs. We need more dads like you, sir!

Wow that is one cool dad they have ;D
I so wish I lived near a fur con, unfortunately even a close con like FC is hard to get to from Hawaii. you can't just drive there. it's always a $600 round trip, not to mention someplace to stay, food, etc.
I can't wait for the day when I'm able to go >;v
Best con badge ever lol.

I confess that I don't read everything you write (sorry.. sorry...), but the stuff I do read always has an uplifting feel to it - and I thank you for sharing so much of your experience of the world in a positive manner. It's an awesome contrast to the barrage we get all day long.
This story was too damn cute, and I laughed out loud at the fridge comment! That was such a perfect way to wrap up the story.
Thanks again, Dogbomb, for making the world a better place to live in. :3

Yes I remember the dad and his kids I thought it was the most awesome thing I've ever seen I wish I would of done a commission of all 3 of them together. Aww man your stories make me so jealous and always brings tears of joy to my eyes when I hear them. Can't wait to experience the greatness that is to be a fursuiter and thanx for the lovely stories like always DogBomb the always make my day =XD
Hi Rodg,
I cannot begin to put into words with such a response like that. When someone does a drawing or some other form of outward expression for someone else, no matter how old the person giving the response is, one can simply say "Awe!" with your heart melting.
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,

Hi Rodg,
I will miss you too. But I will be there "in spirit" with Kaltizar romping around in Nova Zax.
A recommendation for lunch, which I did not realize that they had a location in downtown, but I was aware of them in the "Strip District". The deli is called Primanti's, and there is a location at a worth-while walk from the hotel. You shall not be disappointed in a lunch from there. We were there twice last year! Link is below.

Have fun at AC and with the drunk mundanes, whatever the groups will be. Heaven forbid that the convention center is shared by a bunch of drunk veterinarians. Then they will realize they drunk too much. :-P
Now that Hawaii has passed, the rest of the year should coast. But I will find things to do.
Cheers,

Glad to share the lunch tip. I use to live two-hours north of Pittsburgh, so I am familiar with that part of the country.
Well.. since you asked. ... and thanks for askin'.
Digeri is working on the photo portion of it, while I handled the video. Below are as list of links of when we romped on top of Mauna Kea. We lucked out on the view, since it was generally clear with Maui visible. The fifth link is us walking on old lava near our condo-complex. Enjoy!

Hi Rodg,
Well, I guess you can say "you were there with us", because we met someone on the mountain. Although we did not see the motorcyclist's face because of his full-face motorcycle helmet, but his mannerisms and conversation reminded Digeri and I of you. He even had a long, gray beard coming out of his helmet. We conversed about what we are doing by soaking in the sights in full costume. He mentioned that the view THAT day was perfect with a clear view, because typically it is foggy or cloudy around the mountain.
That is my story. I have passed your grrrreetings to Digeri. He sends his grrrrreetings back to you.
Sounds like a good plan to "savor" a video at a time.
Mahalo! **hugs**

Awww I'm just sitting here grinning from ear to ear after reading your post about my son's artwork. Bryce was pretty giddy when he heard that you liked his picture, and your post here will probably make his head swell.
I'm not pushing my boys toward being furry in any way, but I'm not hiding anything from them, either. Their interest in the fandom is purely their own. I'm in the process of making my own fursuit at the moment (sloooow progress), and they're very interested in that as well. I am concerned, however, because there is a lot of stuff that can be found in the fandom that is, shall we say, not appropriate for children. So I'm trying to filter what they get exposed to.
At any rate, I was happy that they got to meet you and I was really proud of Bryce for his spontaneous gift. I hope to see you again at future cons, DogBomb.

Hey Teric! I'm so glad that you liked my submission and hope
Bryce does, too. Thank you and him again.
I understand what you are saying about the adult content in the fandom.
Sometimes it makes me blush!
My page is 100% G rated, so no worries there.
Keep on doing what you do, my friend.
I hope we get to suit together someday soon.
