Beetleflippers are a species of feline-like beasts who hunt massive insects in packs of up to five. They use their tusks both to impress mates and to aid in this task- males of advanced age and good feeding tend to have the most massive, though these can be broken in skirmishes for dominance, and take time to regrow. They can often be found near settlements, protecting crops, though they are by no means domesticated. In times of scarcity, they have no qualms about taking a stray child or livestock. They tend to be about a meter tall at the shoulder.
